General Safety
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and
instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/ or serious injury.
WARNING: This tool is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced,
physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the tool by a person responsible for their safety.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the tool.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a tool. Distractions can cause you
to lose control.
2) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
tool. Do not use a tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. A moment of inattention while operating a tool may result in serious personal
injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing
protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better
control of the tool in unexpected situations.
d) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
f) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce
dust-related hazards.
WARNING: User exposure to tool vibration can result in loss of sense of touch, numbness,
tingling and reduced ability to grip. Long term exposure can lead to a chronic condition.
If necessary limit the length of time exposed to vibration. Use the figures provided in the
specification relating to vibration if provided to calculate the duration and frequency of
operating the tool. The 2002/44/EC directive relating to vibration in the workplace may provide
useful information even for domestic use of tools. In the first instance of feeling uncomfortable
due to vibration STOP using the tool immediately.
WARNING: Always wear ear protection where the sound level exceeds 85dB(A) and limit the
time of exposure if necessary. If sound levels are uncomfortable even with ear protection stop
using the tool immediately and check the ear protection is correctly fitted and provides the
right level of sound attenuation for the level of sound produced by your tool.
3) Tool use and care
a) Maintain tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts and any other condition that may affect the tool's operation. If damaged, have
the tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
b) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
c) Use the tool's accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions,
taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the
tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
4) Service
a) Have your tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the tool is maintained.

Intended Use
SuperJaws is a portable work holder which clamps a variety of workpieces for a multitude of
different applications.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all its features and
functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing
or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
Assembly
SuperJaws requires fitting of the rear handle before use. Fit the Rear Carry Handle (15) to the
welded bracket (Image A) and fasten the handle into position with the bolt and locking knob
provided (Image B)
Setting Up
SuperJaws is simple to set up, and with a small amount of practice you will find it takes only
seconds to master. However, it is important the correct procedure is followed to prevent
damage. Read and follow these instructions carefully when setting up this tool.
1. Position SuperJaws upside down, loosen the Rear Leg Lock Lever (13) and slide the Rear
Leg (14) from its stored position in the direction shown in (Image C)
2. Pivot the rear leg fully in the direction shown (Image D)
3. Slide the rear leg into position, as shown (Image E), and re-tighten the Rear Leg Lock
Lever (13)
4. Pivot the Foot Pedal (11) in the direction shown (Image F). It will click into the correct
position.
5. Pivot the two Front Legs (8), as shown (Image G)
6. Turn the Front Leg Locks (7) to the 'locked' position (Image H)
7. Turn SuperJaws over so it is in an upright position and check that it is stable and secure.
8. If using the Superjaws to clamp a load up to 450mm in width you can install the Threaded
Handle (17) to the Moving Jaw (2) to assist with moving the Jaw (Image AD)
9. If using the Superjaws to clamp a load over 450mm the Threaded Handle can be removed
and stored in the storage slot on the side of the Superjaws (Image AE)
SuperJaws is now ready for use. The Front Carry Handle (5) and Rear Carry Handle (15) allow
the tool to be moved easily, as shown (Image I)
Folding
Folding SuperJaws primarily follows the procedure of setting up, but in reverse.
1. Remove any workpiece from the jaws and ensure the Lock/Unlock Switch (6) is set to
the unlock position
2. Turn SuperJaws upside down
3. Press the Foot Pedal Lock (10) so the Foot Pedal (11) can be lowered, as shown (Image K).
4. Release each of the Front Leg Locks (7)(Image H) and fold each of the Front Legs (8)
down, as shown (Image J) until the Front Leg Storage Locks (16) engage
5. Loosen the Rear Leg Lock Lever (13) so the Rear Leg (14) can be lowered, then slide into
the securing hole, as indicated (Image L)
6. Tighten the Rear Leg Lock Lever (13)
SuperJaws is now ready to be transported or stored. The folded rear leg can be used as a
handle when carried horizontally, as shown (Image M), and the Rear Carry Handle (15) can be
used when carried vertically, as shown (Image N). When carried horizontally, the Rear Carry
Handle (15) can be angled to secure the Moving Jaw (2) although the normal carrying angle, as
shown (Image N), would prevent the moving jaw from moving when transported. SuperJaws
can be stored in either orientation.
Operation
SuperJaws XXL is an incredibly versatile system with an almost unlimited number of uses. The
following information only represents a small number of examples of how it can be used.
Clamping
1. Place the workpiece against the Fixed Jaw Pad (3)
2. Slide the Moving Jaw (2) up against the workpiece as shown by the top arrow (Image O).
The moving jaw can be moved by hand or by using the Foot Pedal (11)
3. Apply clamping force on the workpiece by sliding down the Lock/Unlock Switch (6) as
indicated by the middle arrow (Image O)
4. Operate the foot pedal by repeatedly depressing the pedal with your foot until the
workpiece is clamped sufficiently, see bottom arrow (Image O). For some workpieces you
may want to clamp loosely initially, to allow adjustment of the position of the workpiece,
before clamping completely. Typically you might use a spirit level to check the position of
