5 Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Dry Cleaning
Use a damp cloth to clean the housing of the weigh module.

Keep the area between the weighing platform and the upper part of the housing clean to ensure perfect

operation of the weigh module.
Water Spray
Chemical Cleaning agents
WMF weigh modules are designed to resist common chemical cleaning procedures.
− Check the exact chemical resistance of the weigh module against the used chemical agent before
starting with the cleaning process.
Important Steps after Cleaning
Before starting with the weight measurements:
Wait until the weigh module cools down back to the operating temperature range.

When cooled down, dry clean the surface.
•
Perform an internal calibration and check the weighing performance of the weigh module.
•
Adjust the weigh module, if necessary.
•

5.2 Calibration and Adjustment

As your weigh module is a precision measuring instrument, periodic maintenance is a prerequisite for
perfect operation. The maintenance intervals depend on usage, ambient and environmental conditions.
Maintenance work may only be performed by a METTLER TOLEDO service technician.
Checking the weighing performance
The precision of the weigh module is normally monitored by the tests function.
It is recommended, that the linearity, repeatability and other key figures of the weigh module are checked by
a METTLER TOLEDO service technician.

5.3 Disposal

Damage to the weigh module
− Make sure that the wash-down protection mechanism is activated when cleaning the
weigh module by water spray.
In conformance with the European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) this device may not be
disposed of in domestic waste. This also applies to countries outside
the EU, per their specific requirements.
Please dispose of this product in accordance with local regulations at
the collecting point specified for electrical and electronic equipment. If
you have any questions, please contact the responsible authority or
the distributor from which you purchased this device. Should this
device be passed on to other parties (for private or professional use),
the content of this regulation must also be related.
