2.1.

Safety and responsibility

Before installing and using this product, please read this guide carefully.
This Somfy product must be installed by a professional motorisation and home automation installer,
for whom this guide is intended.
Moreover, the installer must comply with current standards and legislation in the country in which the
product is being installed, and inform his customers of the operating and maintenance conditions for
the product.
Any use outside the sphere of application specified by Somfy is forbidden. This invalidates the warranty
and discharges Somfy of all liability, as does any failure to comply with the instructions given herein.
Never begin installing without first checking the compatibility of this product with the associated
equipment and accessories.
2.2.

General safety advice

As well as the safety instructions described in this guide, it is also essential to observe the instructions
detailled in the attached document «Safety instructions to follow and keep».
2.2.1. Oximo io Module
1) Never immerse it in liquid!
2) Never drill holes in it!
3) Never cut the aerial.
4) Do not damage the aerial: Risk of electric shock.
2.2.2. Tubular S Module
1) Never immerse it in liquid!
2) Avoid impacts!
3) Do not drop it!
4) Never drill holes in it!
5) Never use the Tubular S Module without the Oximo io
Module. These two components are inseparable and
cannot operate independently from each other.
2.3. Specific safety advice
2.3.1. Roller shutter
- Check the strength of the roller shutter and its fittings.
The roller shutter must be fitted with:
• end stops screwed into the last slat, fixed (A) or
removable (B) stops incorporated in the runners or an end
slat acting as an end stop,
• bolts or rigid links (C).
- Check that the motor used is suitable for the size of roller
shutter, to avoid the risk of damaging the roller shutter
and/or the Somfy product.
For information about the compatibility of the motor with
the roller shutter and accessories, contact the roller
shutter manufacturer or Somfy.
