top portion of the pipe using the bottom
section of the cutting wheel with the
guard covering the top of the wheel.
If the pipe is in-ground or otherwise
cannot be rolled:
Support the pipe and chock it if
N
necessary to prevent it from rolling,
moving or vibrating.
Rotate the guard to the forward
N
position shown in illustration A.

To reduce the risk of pinching or
N
binding and kickback, start cutting in
the lower section of the pipe.

Rotate the guard to the rear limit

stop as shown in illustration B.

Insert the abrasive cutting wheel at
N
full throttle into the existing cut,
being careful not to tilt or twist the
TS 440
wheel, and continue the cut down to
the center of the bottom half of the
pipe. Illustration B.
Rotate the guard to the forward

position shown in illustration C.

Cut the opposite lower side of the
N
pipe. Illustration C.
Rotate the guard to the rear limit
N
stop as shown in illustration D.

Insert the abrasive cutting wheel at

full throttle into the existing cut,
being careful not to tilt or twist the
wheel, and continue the cut down to
the center of the bottom half of the
pipe. Make sure that the cut at the
bottom is complete and joins the
first cut made to the bottom of the
pipe. Illustration D. If the cuts fail to
meet, never attempt to make them
meet by twisting the machine or
wheel, bending the wheel or
attempting to change direction in
the cut. Start a new cut that will
meet the existing cut without
twisting, jamming or side loading the
wheel.
Rotate the guard to the forward

position shown in illustration E.

Make a cut from the top half of the
N
pipe down, connecting with the cut
from the lower half. Illustration E.
Again, do not attempt to twist or
bend the machine or wheel to join
the two cuts.

Make a cut in the marked area
N
shown above leaving uncut the
section labeled "X" on the
illustration. To keep the pipe from
pinching, binding or clamping the
wheel during this cut, do not cut into
the area labeled "X", Illustration F.
Only make the final top cut (separating
cut) after all bottom and lateral cuts have
been completed and connected with one
another. Illustration G.
