Donning and doffing the liner
Do not wear the liner on injured skin and wash it before using
•
it for the first time.
Liners without a textile cover have a smooth exterior coating
•
to make donning easier. If necessary, donning spray for
silicone liners or a lubricating cream for PUR liners can be
applied additionally. Do not use any powders.
1
T urn the Ottobock liner inside out as far as possible and hold it
such that the bulge at the lower end (cap) is visible. Please check
whether the residual limb and inside of the liner are dry and free
of dirt particles.
2
Position the closed end of the liner parallel to the residual limb
end and roll up the liner evenly and carefully.
•
I f there is a pin, this must point in the direction of the lengthwise
axis of the residual limb. For better alignment, use markings for
orientation that can be determined with your prosthetist.
3
Caution! Avoid soft tissue displacement, the formation of
wrinkles and air inclusions.
4
Do not pull on the edge of the liner or damage the surface with
sharp fingernails or sharp objects.
5
P ull over the residual limb sock in such a way that the pin, if
applicable, remains free.
6
When unrolling the liner during doffing, make sure that the edge
of the liner does not roll up into a pressing bulge.
