Piezon Master 400

Torque wrench

The torque wrench is used to fix the EMS instruments onto the appropriate handpiece
using the correct amount of force. When fixing file holders into place, please use the
special wrenches included with those systems. The torque wrench must not be used
for this purpose. Please also refer to the operating instructions of the particular
systems.
First tighten the instrument gently by hand. Then use the torque wrench (19).
Continue turning until you feel resistance on the torque wrench (19). Then turn the
wrench another quarter turn. The instrument will then have been tightened optimally.

Disinfecting, cleaning and sterilizing the Piezon Master 400

After treatment, always rinse the Piezon Master 400, with coupled handpiece, in
lukewarm water. This prevents the various disinfectants reacting in the sections which
they pass through, which would clog and prevent proper functioning. Disinfectants
may attack the material which the unit is made of or the handpiece hose if they are
exposed to them for longer periods.
To flush through the sections which the liquid passes through, half fill the bottle (10)
with water. Adjust the "Water" knob (5) to its highest setting and rinse for more than
20 seconds.
Then pull the handpiece off the handpiece hose (8). Shake the water out of the handpiece
and hose. This prevents short circuiting in the handpiece hose plug.
Clean and disinfect the torque wrench (19) after unscrewing it from the handpiece.
The torque wrench can be autoclaved at up to 135°C for at least 3 mins.

Regular care and maintenance

The irrigating liquid bottle can be sterilized. Before sterilizing the bottle, clean it with
running water. Do not use scouring powder, sponges which scratch, or brushes.
Caution - Do not sterilize the bottle in a chemical vapour sterilizer or hot-air sterilizer
as this would damage the bottle.
The bottle (10) can be autoclaved at a maximum of 121°C and 1,0 bar for a maximum
of 15 minutes. Unscrew the cap (11) from the bottle (10). Otherwise, excessive
pressure will build up in the bottle, which damages it during sterilization. To sterilize
the bottle, put it on a tray insert. Do not lay the bottle (10) or screw-cap (11) on bare
metal. Heat may be transferred and melt the bottle (10) and screw-cap (11). Check
the condition of the bottle and screw-cap after sterilization.
