6.3.2 Aligning the cutting-means assembly
The cutting-means assembly should be properly adjusted to obtain
an evenly mown lawn.
NOTE
For achieving good results from cutting, the front
part should always be 5 - 7 mm lower than the rear.
– Put the machine onto a flat sur-
face and check the tyre pres-
sures;
– position two 24-28 mm spacer
blocks (1) under the front edge
of the cutting-means assembly
and two spacer blocks (2) 5-7
mm higher under the rear edge,
making sure they are positioned
along the centre line of the cut-
ting means;
– put the height adjusting lever
into position «1».

••
– Fully loosen the two nuts (3), the nuts (4 – 6 – 8) and the lock-
nuts (5 – 7 – 9) of the three connecting rods until the cutting-
means assembly is resting on the blocks;
– screw the two upper right nuts (6 – 8) and the lower left nut (4)
until the cutting-means assembly starts rising; tighten the three
locknuts (5 – 7 – 9) and turn the nuts (3) until a minimal move-
ment of the lifting lever causes analogous movement of all the
lifting connecting rods.
Any difference in height from
the ground between the left and
right sides of the cutting-means
assembly can be compensated
by turning the two nuts (4 - 8)
and locknuts (5 - 9) of just the
back connecting rods.
Move the control lever to 2 or 3
different positions, making sure
that the cutting-means assem-
bly rises evenly and that the
difference in height from the
ground remains the same be-
tween the front and rear edge.
If the front part tends to rise faster or slower it can be adjusted by
turning the nuts (10) on the link rod (11).
Turning the nuts clockwise will lift the front part and make it rise
faster, and turning anti-clockwise will give the opposite effect.

– Loosen the nuts (3), the screws (5) and the locknuts (4-6) on
the right and left-hand side, so that the cutting-means assembly
is resting firmly on the blocks;
••
– push the two connection rods
backwards (7) and tighten
the nuts (3) to the respective
rods until both the left and
right side of the front part of
the cutting-means assembly
begin to rise and then tighten
the locknuts (4);
– turn both the rear screws (5)
until both the left and right
side of the rear part of the
cutting-means assembly be-
gin to rise and then tighten
the relative locknuts (6);
If you are unable to adjust the cutting-means assembly properly,
consult your Dealer.
6.3.3 Adjusting the cutting means gear and brake
When you operate the lever to disengage the cutting means, this
also brings the brake into operation which stops rotation within a
few seconds.
A stretched cable and/or changes in the length of the belt can impair
the correct engagement or rotation of the cutting means.
In such cases, turn the adjuster as foreseen for the model in ques-
tion.
Turn the adjusting nut (1) until the correct spring length (2) is
achieved.

In any case, please contact your Dealer if, after the adjustment,
the gear is not able to engage the belt correctly or block the cutting
means within a few seconds.

6.3.4 Brake adjustment

If the braking distance becomes
longer than the amount indicated
(
5.3.6), the brake spring will
need to be adjusted.
The adjustment will need to be
made while the parking brake is
engaged.
