Disposal
Please dispose of the devices in

disposal apply for medical compression
garments.

This garment does not contain latex.
Step 1:
This component consists of two pieces: a
large "body" portion that has numbers
printed along the top and bottom edge
and a smaller "spine" portion. Separate
the two pieces from one another and lay
them out flat so that the number
markings along the bottom and top edge
of the body portion face up. Disengage
the bottom-most band to view all of the
number markings along the bottom edge.
Do not flip the spine portion upside
down.
Step 2:
Measure the patient's narrowest ankle
circumference above the malleolus and
widest calf circumference in
centimeters.
Step 3:
Using the ankle circumference
measurement first, place the bottom
left edge of the spine portion on top of
the corresponding number marking
along the bottom edge of the body
portion. Repeat this step with the top
left edge of the spine portion for the calf
measurement. Once the top and bottom
spine tabs have been secured, adjust the
center spine tab to create a smooth
curve. Each patient's leg measurements
will produce different spine angles.
The spine tabs do not need to reach the
top or bottom edge of the body piece.
In those cases, the top and bottom tabs
should visually connect to the correct
number markings.
The lower leg component may no longer
lay flat once the spine has been set.
This is to be expected when dealing with
more extreme spine angles.
Step 4:
Cut the excess material off of the body
portion of the lower leg component
leaving about 5 cm of excess. Ensure that
enough of an overlap is left as not to
expose any of the spine hook and to
allow for potential spine adjusting.
Note:
When dealing with more extreme spine
angles, excess material extending beyond
the top of the spine portion is to be
expected. Using the top of the spine
portion as a guide, cut off the excess
material if desired.
Step 5:
If accidental removal of the spine tabs is
a concern, place the white stays along
the edge of the spine where the patient
feels the spine needs reinforcing or trace
around the spine tabs with a permanent
marker for easy re-application.
Step 6:
If the foot or toes require any bandaging,
apply prior to donning the undersleeve
and legging.
Step 7:
The undersleeve is worn for added
comfort and when exudate is expected.
Instruct the patient to slide the
undersleeve onto the leg.
