3.3 "XP" front control panel
Fig.4 NEOMIG XP
Switch I1: the main sparking switch (Pos. 0 = power source OFF).
Switch l2: switch for fine adjustment to 10 positions.
Never operate the switch while you are welding!
L1: comes on as soon as the power source is powered.
L2: indicates cut-in of any protection devices such as
the thermal protection.
L3: comes on when voltage is present at the welder out-
put.
D1, D2 7-segment display: permits display of general wel-
der information during start-up, the settings and current
and voltage readings during welding, and alarm codes.
E1 encoder key: permits adjustment of the wire speed
in manual MIG
MIG
Gives access to set up, selection and setting of the parameters.
T1, synergy: permits selection of the manual MIG process
or synergic MIG
setting the type of material to be welded.
Manual MIG process.
Synergic MIG process, carbon steel welding.
Synergic MIG process, stainless steel welding.
Synergic MIG process, aluminium welding.
T2, wire diameter: in synergy, permits selection of the diame-
ter of the wire used.
Diameter of wire used in mm
T3: used to select 2-step, and 4-step welding, it causes wire-
feeding when operating cover is open.
Two-Step: in two-step mode, pressing the button cau-
ses the gas to flow, activates the voltage on the wire and
moves it forward; when released, the gas, the voltage and the
wire feed are de-activated.
and synergy correction in synergic
Four-Step: in four-step mode, the first time the button
is pressed, the gas flows, running a manual pre-gas
time; when released, the wire voltage and feed are activated. If
the button is pressed again, the wire is blocked and the final
process is initiated, setting the current to zero; final release of
the button stops the gas flow.
Wire feeder: permits manual wire feed, a function that
is enabled with the coil compartment gate open (for
the passage of the wire along the torch sheath during prepara-
tion operations). When the gate is open, the torch button ena-
bles only the flow of gas.
3.3.1 Set up
Permits set up and adjustment of a series of additional parame-
ters for improved more accurate control of the welding system.
The parameters present at set up are organised in relation to the
welding process selected and have a numerical code.
Entry to set up: by pressing the encoder key for 3 sec. (the cen-
tral zero on the 7-segment display confirms entry).
Selection and adjustment of the required parameter: by turning
the encoder until displaying the numerical code relating to that
parameter. If the encoder key is pressed at this point, the value set
for the parameter selected can be displayed and adjusted.
Exit from set up: to quit the "adjustment" section, press the
encoder again.
To exit the set up, go to parameter "O" (save and quit) and press
the encoder.
List of set up parameters
0
Save and quit: allows you to save the changes and quit the
set up.
1
Reset: allows you to reset all the parameters to the default
values.
90 Reset XE (Easy Mode)
It allows manual MIG welding with the adjustment of the
motor slope.
91 Reset XA (Advanced Mode)
It allows manual MIG and synergic MIG.
"STANDARD "synergic control entails automatic pre-setting
of the ideal welding parameters according to the selected
position.
The settings are maintained during the different welding
stages.
The synergic value can be corrected as a percentage accor-
ding to the welder's requirements.
92 Reset XP (Professional Mode)
It allows manual MIG and synergic MIG).
"INTERACTIVE "synergic control entails automatic pre-set-
ting of the ideal welding parameters according to the selec-
ted position.
Synergic control stays active during the different welding
stages. The welding parameters are constantly controlled
and, if necessary, corrected according to precise analysis of
the electric arc!
The synergic value can be corrected as a percentage accor-
ding to the welder's requirements.
99 Reset: allows you to re-set all the parameters to the default
values and restore the whole system to the conditions pre-
defined by Selco.
