Repairs and Warrenty Information
If a problem cannot be fixed by following the troubleshooting guide, or by replacing
one of the parts listed on page 61, then the instrument must be sent in for repair.
Please note: for the safety of courriers and our employees, and to avoid
violation of federal and local laws, only clean instruments free of any
chemical, biological or radioactive hazards can be inspected and repaired!
Sending in for repair
a) Clean and decontaminate the instrument thoroughly.
b) Contact your local dealer or service facility and request a health hazard
clearance form to document instrument decontamination.
A sample form is available at www.brand.de. Completely fill out the form.
c) Send the completed form along with the instrument to the manufacturer or to
the dealer with an exact description of the type of malfunction and the pipetted
media.
The return transport of the instrument is at risk and cost of the sender.
Calibration Service
The ISO 9000 and the GLP guidelines require the regular testing of volumetric
instruments. We recommend testing every 3 to 12 months. The interval is depen-
dent on the individual requirements for the instrument. Tests should be conducted
more frequently if the instrument is used frequently or is used with aggressive
media.

In addition, BRAND offers you opportunity to have your instrument calibrated by
either our factory calibration service, or by the BRAND-DKD laboratory.
Simply send us the instrument to be calibrated, along with the type of calibration
you want (factory or DKD). The instruments will be returned after a few days along
with a test report (factory calibration) or with a DKD calibration certificate.
You can obtain more information from your specialized dealer or directly from
BRAND.
Warranty
As provided by law, any and all warranties are null and void if the product has been
misused, modified or repaired by unauthorized personnel, if the defects are caused
by negligence (instruction manual, maintenance) or by normal wear and tear. Use
only original manufacturer's accessory/spare parts.
