6.4 Replacing the carbon brushes

The 4 carbon brushes fitted to both turbines are subject to natural wear. The carbon
brush service life is approx. 800 - 1200 hours and is always dependent on the
device usage, the switch-on duration and the operating cycles. Please follow the
steps shown in the separate installation manual, which is included with the carbon
brush replacement set, when replacing the carbon brushes.

6.5 Troubleshooting

Fault
Not all fumes are
captured.
The green lamp
is not illuminated.
Dust comes out
on clean air side.
Device does not
start.
Possible cause
Distance from extraction nozzle to
welding location too large.
Clean air outlet covered.
Filter cartridges saturated.
Filter cartridges damaged.
Lack of voltage.
Start-stop sensor is connected but
no current is detected (welding is
not yet being carried out)
Welding current not detected
(direct current)

Solution
Place exhaust nozzles
closer.
Keep clean air outlet free
of obstruction.
Change filter cartridges.
Change filter cartridges.
Have it checked by an
electrician.
Start welding process
Route earthing cable
through several times.
