Drying
Thoroughly dry inside and outside of all parts: either by
blow-drying with oil-free, compressed air or by hanging the
chemical protective suit up to dry in a drying cabinet or in
fresh air at a maximum temperature of 40
Keep away from direct sunlight.
Visually check the chemical protective suit, protective boots
and gloves.
If applicable, remount the ventilation units
Caring for the Face Cuff (Optional)
Powder the face cuff with talcum after every cleaning and
disinfecting process to prevent the material from sticking
together.
Caring for the Closure System
Thoroughly grease the closure system after each use and
after each cleaning/disinfection. Only use the original

Sufficiently grease the area underneath the chain links
which carries the slider.
If the chemical protective suit is stored, check regularly if
the closure system is still sufficiently greased.
NOTICE
Use a lighter to burn textile threads which could cause the
zip fastener to jam. The flame may only come into contact
with the zip fastener for a split second, otherwise the zip
fastener will be damaged or deformed.
Testing
Visually check the chemical protective suit after use.
After each use and after maintenance and repair work, carry
out an inspection of the chemical protective suit as follows.
NOTICE
The inspections are described for the Porta Control
device. They can also be carried out with other test devices,
but the specified values must be observed.

Preparation for Testing
Carry out the inspections at room temperature (20
according to EN 464.

Check the Porta Control
Seal the connectors if the chemical protective suit is
equipped with integral ventilation valve.
1) Observe chapter "Maintenance Intervals".
Refer to the corresponding Instructions for Use of the self-con-
tained breathing apparatus, the full face mask, the ventilation valve
and the automatic switch-over valve.

Chemical Protective Suit with Facial Cuff
Moderately inflate the test bal-
loon, close it with the tube clamp,
wet it with water and insert it
through the open zip fastener into
the head hood of the protective
suit.
Continue inflating the test balloon until it contacts the cuff
of the protective suit everywhere.
Close zip fastener completely and lay chemical protective
suit face up on the ground.
Remove protective cap from suit
valve and remove valve disc.
Fit the test cap.

Inflate chemical protective suit
and test for leaks (see "Checking
the Chemical Protective Suit for
Leaks" on page 26).
Protection Suit with Integral Full Face Mask RA:

Exhalation valve test plug – R 53 349
Remove protective cap from
connector.
1 Pull out the exhalation valve disc
and firmly press the exhalation
valve test plug onto the seat until it
locks into place.
2 Insert adapter so that the pin pro-
trudes between the flanges of the
inhalation valve and keeps the
valve open.
3 Secure adapter with screw ring.
Completely close the zip fastener, spread out the protective
suit face upwards, unbutton the protection cap from the suit
valve and remove the valve disc.

1 Fit the test cap and connect the
air gun.
2 Connect Porta Control
and adapter.
Inflate chemical protective suit
and test for leaks (see "Checking
the Chemical Protective Suit for
Leaks" on page 26).
