12.7 Storage
Before storing the unit for an extended period:
1. Be sure that the storage area is free of excessive humidity and dust.
2. Service according to the table below:

* Use gasoline conditioners that are formulated to extend storage life.
12.7.1 Storage procedure
1. Drain the gasoline.
a.
Remove the fuel tank cap, and empty the fuel tank into an approved gasoline container.
Reinstall the fuel tank cap.
b.
Loosen the cover screw and remove the maintenance cover.
c.
Loosen the carburettor drain screw.
d.
Drain the gasoline from the carburettor into a
suitable container.
e.
Remove the spark plug maintenance cover and
remove the spark plug cap.
f.
Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
g.
Pull the recoil starter 3 to 4 times to drain the
gasoline from the fuel pump into a suitable
container.
h.
Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
i.
Reinstall the spark plug cap on the spark plug
securely.
j.
Reinstall the spark plug maintenance cover.
k.
Tighten the carburettor drain screw.
l.
Reinstall the maintenance cover, and tighten the
cover screw securely.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Remove the spark plug, and pour about a tablespoon of clean engine oil into the cylinder. Crank
the engine several revolutions to distribute the oil, and then reinstall the spark plug.
4. Pull the recoil starter slowly until resistance is felt then return the recoil starter grip gently. This
closes the valves so moisture cannot enter.

RECOMMENDED SERVICE PROCEDURE TO PREVENT HARD
No preparation required
Fill with fresh gasoline and add gasoline conditioner*.
Drain the gasoline.
Drain the gasoline.
Remove the spark plug. Put a spoonful of engine oil into the cylinder.
Turn the engine slowly with the starter recoil to distribute the oil.
Reinstall the spark plug.
Change the engine oil.
STARTING
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. You can
be burned or seriously injured when handling fuel.
