2.2 Special functions
– Hiding total values during the trip
If the BC 14.12 ALTI / BC 14.12 STS ALTI receives
speed signals, all the total functions (distance, time,
and cumulated altitude) are hidden on the display.
If no speed values are received, the functions
are once again displayed.

2.3 Altitude measurement
The altitude measurement on the BC 14.12 ALTI /
BC 14.12 STS ALTI is determined on the basis of the
barometric air pressure. Any change to the weather
means a change to the air pressure, which can lead
to a change to your current altitude. To compensate
these changes in air pressure, you must enter a
reference altitude into the BC 14.12 ALTI /
BC 14.12 STS ALTI (process known as calibration).
– Calibration using the start altitude
altitude is the altitude of your usual start location
(generally your home). You can find this information
on road or country maps. It is set in the
BC 14.12 ALTI / BC 14.12 STS ALTI once and
calibrated within a matter of seconds.
