POSSIBLE CAUSES
No water
Insufficient water
Vortex (Cistern application)
Air/gas lock pump
Low line voltage
Misconnected input
power leads
Dragging motor and/or pump
Abrasives or debris in pump
Loose motor connection
When fault is indicated
immediately after power-up
Short circuit due to defective
cable motor or drive
High ambient
temperature
Improper ventilation
Clogged heat sink
Insufficient water supply
Bypass plumbing loop is open
Water logged tank
No check valve installed in
system plumbing
Leaking or blocked
check valve
A fault was found internal
to drive
CORRECTIVE ACTION
The pump is running dry check water source.
Restrict pump discharge to prevent cavitation.
Raise minimum water level in cistern.
Line voltage is low, less than approximately 190 VAC.
Check incoming power connections and correct or tighten
if necessary.
Check pump for external damage like a dent in the shell.
Flush debris from pump and add input screen.
Wires to motor are open circuit. Check motor connection.
Check motor connections.
Replace drive or motor.
Ambient temperature has exceeded 104 °F (40 °C).
Shield from direct sunlight.
Ensure air temperature around drive does not exceed
104 °F (40 °C).
Remove debris from heat sink fins.
Restore water supply to the unit. See WATER SUPPLY
REQUIREMENT section of this manual on page 2.
Close bypass plumbing loop.
Check tank precharge. Correct tank air pressure or replace
pressure tank as required.
See step 4 of INSTALLATION PROCEDURE PLUMBING on
page 3 of this manual.
Replace check valve.
