3. Turn the engine switch to the START position and hold it there until the
engine starts.

CAUTION:
Do not use the starter motor for more than 5 seconds. If the engine fails to
start, release the key, and wait at least 10 seconds before operating the
starter motor again.
NOTE:
When the speed of the starter motor drops after a period of time, it is an
indication that the battery should be recharged.
4. After the engine starts, let the engine switch return to the ON position.
