6.) Mount supports 2 at "b". Insert hexagon bolts M10x90 at "c", fit spacers 5 at "c" (from
outside), fit fishplates 4 at "c" and secure with securing nuts M10.
7.) Align trailer bracket and tighten hexagon bolts and nuts.
8.) Screw ball plate at "f" with hexagon bolts M10x35 and collar nuts M10 and at "e" with hexagon
bolts M10x35 to trailer bracket 1.
9.) Use bolts M12/nuts M12 of strength class 10.
Use bolts M10/nuts M10 of strength class 10.
Tightening torques:
Bolts M12 - strength class 10.9
Bolts M10 - strength class 10.9
The fixing points specified as standard must be observed.
National guidelines concerning official approval of auxiliaries must be observed.
These installation and operating instructions must be enclosed with the vehicle papers.
This trailer bracket, including all installation components, weights approx. 18.5 kg. Please take
into consideration that the unladen weight of your vehicle will increase by this amount after the
trailer bracket has been fitted.
Note:
When installing this towing hitch to a vehicle registered in Switzerland:
The enclosed trailer load sticker must be affixed to the towing hitch so that is clearly visible. This
information on trailer load refers to the towing hitch; the trailer load permissible for the vehicle must
be taken from the vehicle papers.
What you must take into consideration when using towing vehicle and trailer:
The new EU regulations prescribe that new vehicles and vehicles already in use should be
equipped with an EU control unit, if the vehicle serves purposes, for example, of goods
transportation, and if the total permissible weight of vehicle and trailer exceeds 3,5 t.
The following are exempted from this regulation:
- Vehicles used for passenger transportation and which, for reasons of design and
equipment, are suitable and intended to transport up to 9 persons, including the driver.
- Vehicles used for goods transportation and of which the permissible total weight,
including trailer, does not exceed 3,5 t.
- Vehicles used for non-commercial transportation of goods for exclusively private
purposes, e.g. transporting domestic articles, hobby and sports equipment (caravan,
boat and horse trailers).
