ADJUSTING THE SPEED OF THE MOTOR IGX440 15 HP
The Cobra-50-G15H 15 HP model embodies an accelerator control to adjust the speed. Depending on the blade used,
there are three speeds, programmed for the 400 mm, 450 mm and 500 mm blades. The following table shows the
different blades for each blade as well its maximal cutting depth:
In figure 9, we can see the speed control board on the command panel. On the right, there is the command to select
the blade to be used. On the left, there is the automatic slow-down command.
5.4 CUTTING MATERIALS
The Cobra-50 can only deliver a good result of work and be used safely by respecting the following
recommendations:
Start the engine with the blade off the cutting zone as indicated in section.
Place the machine with the blade onto the cutting line and lower the pointer (G, Fig.10). This will ease the
moving of the machine.
Before starting to cut, open the water tank tap (L, Fig.7). The blade must be cooled properly. An insufficient
cooling could cause an early failure and other damages.
Set the throttle to maximum and plunge the blade slowly as indicated in section until the desired depth. While
0
lowering the blade, the saw will then have a gentle forward movement to achieve the cut.
Once the desired depth is achieved, push gently the saw forward over the pre-determined cutting line. The
speed of the cut is determined by the depth and the hardness of the material to cut, and the power of the motor. If
the blade is in tension or slightly vibrating, it is due to an excessive advancement. Then, advance it slowly.
Do not try to correct the cutting line and force the saw as this will damage the blade or other components.
To stop the saw, raise the blade from the cutting zone as indicated before. Never stop the saw while the
blade is cutting.
5.5 SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
