1.4 CE CERTIFICATION

Directive 98/37/CE commonly known as the "Machines
Directives", lays down the conditions under which
the machine can be put on the market. This Directive
prescribes that all machine can be sold and used only
if they do not endanger the safety and health of people,
pets or property. To certify compliance of PONYBENCH
BTPLUS with the provisions of the Directive, prior to sale,
SPANESI S.p.A. submitted a sample to an authorised
institute. PONYBENCH BTPLUS, built in compliance with
the provisions contained in the directive 98/37/CE, has
passed the certifi cation test and the authorised institute
has therefore issued the CE certifi cation.
PONYBENCH BTPLUS is, therefore, delivered to the
customer, complete with:
• CE declaration of conformity
• CE mark
• Instruction Manual

1.5 INTENDED USE

PONYBENCH BTPLUS is a machine designed and built
exclusively for lifting automobiles:
• PONYBENCH BTPLUS must be used exclusively for
lifting vehicles observing the capacity limits indicated
on the identifi cation plate.
• The vehicle being repaired must be placed on
PONYBENCH BTPLUS observing the load distribution
indicated in this manual.
• PONYBENCH BTPLUS must not be used for washing
or degreasing vehicles.
• PONYBENCH BTPLUS is not suitable for lifting
people.
• PONYBENCH BTPLUS can be used with pull
systems.
WARNING! PONYBENCH BTPLUS must be
used exclusively for the purpose for which it
was designed and built. All other operations
and purposes other than those specifi ed in
this manual are considered improper and are
therefore absolutely forbidden: SPANESI S.p.A.
declines all responsibility for damage caused
to people, animals or property, due to improper
use of PONYBENCH BTPLUS or to failure to
observe the instructions in this manual.

1.6 IDENTIFICATION

The manufacturer's Identifi cation plate (Figure 1), is fi tted
on the structure of PONYBENCH BTPLUS, and shows the
following data:

• (C)Maximum oil pressure of hydraulic circuit in bar
• (D)Serial number
• (E)Maximum capacity in Kg
• (F)Operating voltage in volts
• (G)Operating frequency in hertz
• (H)Year of manufacture
• (I)CE Mark
Always quote the data on the identifi cation plate when
requesting servicing or supply of spare parts.

1.7 DESCRIPTION

PONYBENCH BTPLUS is an appliance for lifting vehicles
for inspection and/or sanding of vehicle bodies; it is
designed for installing a pull system..
PONYBENCH BTPLUS consists chiefl y of a mobile
frame in welded steel sheet, which is lifted by a single-
acting hydraulic jack which controls a scissor mechanism.
The source of energy is a hydraulic unit which sends
pressurised oil – via a gear-pump – to the lifting jack.
These are, in brief, the features of PONYBENCH
BTPLUS:
1. the control unit is fed by electrical power.
2. PONYBENCH BTPLUS is designed to accept a pull
system.
