What criteria is the conference based
on and who are the main participants?
We have been very proactive, we have a female
panel, artist panel, a panel that shows you how to
make a track, another one that shows how to mix,
drugs education panels, promotions, promoters
and agents, discussion about how to book a DJ,
how to create a poster. It's an incredibly delicate
matter the position of a DJ on a flyer! We are
trying to analyze and touch all the potential
contents so the conference is open to all the
possible participants. We care about people that
have done so much for this industry, this year we
will do a private dinner for Pepe Roselló on the
terrace at Space, to celebrate everything he did
and will do. A piece of history of Ibiza.
The IMS currently operates in 4
locations worldwide; Ibiza, Los
Angeles, China and Singapore. What
are the main differences, if any,
between these events/cities?
Ibiza is the flagship event, the center of the
electronic music for at least 120 days, Las Vegas,
for instance, stole the Ibiza model and now
you see billboards of DJs all over the city. They
looked at Ibiza and they wanted to do the same,
to have young people to come and gamble, in
opposite, we don't want them to gamble, our
main focus is the music and Ibiza represents
that for sure. LA is very different, industry based,
participants are already in the music industry, it's
one day networking with very high end speakers,
it's called Engage, because unlike here in Ibiza
where we have 5 speakers, in LA the panel is
made of two people on stage, one person from
electronic music and one from a completely
different scenario. It's a very different format.
China is a unique place, we want to do business
there and they want to do business with us but
they don't know our world and we don't know
theirs. When you do an event there you can't
even promote it on Facebook, just to mention one
difference. We are trying to create a bridge to
help Chinese people in our industry and help
our industry in China.
Also this year the Gran Finale, will
have exceptional artists, including
Nicole Moudaber and Dubfire (both
our latest protagonists of N&D 2015
covers). How do you choose the artists
for this type of events?
We normally do two nights, one commercial and

one underground, but as this year we decided
