6. ST RTING UP
TTENTION !
It is imperative to fill the pump before use.
6.1 Filling, degassing
Pump under pressure (see Fig. 2)
- Close the discharge valve (3).
- Open the filling plug (4).
- Gradually open the pump suction valve (2) and fill the pump
completely.
- Screw the filling plug back in only after water flows out and all air
has been eliminated.
Pump in suction (see fig. 1)
- Make sure that all accessories connected to the discharge pipe
are open (taps, valves, spray pistols).
- Unscrew the filling plug (4).
- With a funnel, through the filling port, fill the pump completely .
- Screw the plug back.
6.2 utomation screen (See fig. 3)
The automation has a screen with three check lights (14-15-16).
14 - "POWER" check light : the pump is properly connected to mains
and so ready to operate.
15 - " L RM" check light : operation of the pump has been
interrupted (see "Operating trouble").
16 - "ON" check light : the pump is running.
"RESET" button : This is used to start the pump after it has stopped as
a result of a problem reported by the " L RM" check light, and after
the problem has been solved.
6.3 Starting up
- Start the pump by inserting the plug on the power cord (12) in a
power socket (alternative current).
DO NOT FORGET TO CONNECT THE HE RTH.
In the priming phase, which can be up to 4 minutes if the H = 8 m,
keep the "RESET" button pressed down.
In order to reduce the self-priming time over the suction head
(H ) = 6 m, it is recommended to stop the motor after 90 seconds
and to complete the filling of the pump before starting again.
Beyond 6 m, if you encounter difficulty of starting. Fill the pump again
then lift up the flexible hose at delivery of the automatic control 0,5
m high minimum until the pump is priming.
6.4 djustments (See FIG. 3)
If the head of water (HR) or (HC) (See Fig. 2) is higher than 10 m, or
the pressure of the town water supply is higher than 1 bar, the pump
cannot start up again with the cut-in pressure as pre-set at the
factory. It is therefore necessary to adjust this setting according to
the table below :
Height of highest tap in metres (HR)
Height of suction tank in metres (HC)
Pressure of town network in bars
10 m / 1 bar
from 10 to 15 / 1 to 1.5 bar
from 15 to 20 / 1.5 to 2 bars
Pressure adjustment with the screw (See FIG. 3 - item 18) : read off
the cut-in pressure on the pressure gauge (See FIG. 3 - item 19) at
the exact time of the pump starting and turn the screw in the
direction desired (+ or -).
Note : to be able to turn the screw without undue effort, keep
several taps open so as to reduce the internal pressure in the
automatic control.
The automatic control only regulates the pump's cut-in pressure. It
does not affect the pressure in the installation, which depends only
on the pump characteristics. The pressure in the installation must be
less than 6 bars (JETSON) or 10 bars (SPRINGSON).
7. M INTEN NCE
No special servicing in operation. lways keep the booster perfectly
clean.
For a prolonged shutdown, if there is no risk of frost, it is best not to
drain the pump.
- If the pump is exposed to frost, it should be drained by opening
plug (4) and plug (5).
- Screw the two plugs back in without tightening.
Motors without grease fittings
The bearings are greased for life and so need no lubrication.
Mechanical seal
The mechanical seal needs no servicing in operation. It must never
be allowed to operate dry.
