Assemble the sensor

Store the sensor cartridge at a temperature that is greater than 0 °C (32 °F) to
prevent damage.
The sensor cartridge must be installed on the sensor body before use. The
sensor cartridge contains a membrane, electrolyte solution and
electrodes.
1. Remove the protector cap and the retaining cap from the end of the
sensor (Figure 8).
2. Remove the protective cover from the new sensor cartridge.
3. Align the flat side of the new sensor cartridge with the sensor body and
push to insert.
4. Put the retaining and protector caps on the sensor and tighten by hand.
5. Once installed, put the sensor in a container of clean water to keep the
membrane moist and to prevent evaporation of the electrolyte.
Be sure to condition and calibrate the sensor before use.

Condition the sensor

After assembly and wiring, the sensor must be conditioned to properly
polarize the electrodes.
1. Make sure that the sensor is connected to the controller.
2. Power on the controller.
3. Put the sensor in water. Allow the sensor to polarize for 12 hours.
Be sure to calibrate the sensor before use.
