Power supply of the motor. If the LED is OFF, check the fuse F3 (10A).
PROG
Flashing light during the normal operation of the control unit. Always on during the programming of the functions of the control unit.
CH
It indicates that the motor is in the closing phase.
AP
It indicates that the motor is in the opening phase.
Trimmer - table 3
PA
It regulates the threshold of the motor torque in the opening phase (max. threshold= clockwise direction).
PC
It regulates the threshold of the motor torque in the closing phase (max. threshold= anti-clockwise direction).
Installation of the control unit
1
After assessing the characteristics and the risks of the installation, short-circuit all normally closed inputs which are not used: STOP (22), FCC (21), FCA
(20), FTC (19), ASC (18), ASA (17), by using the 6 dip-switches near the removable terminal strip.
The correspondences are: 1= STOP, 2=FCC,3=FCA,4=FTC,5=ASC, 6=ASA. N.B.: The connection of the inputs FCA (20), FCC (21) to the terminal COM.FC
(28) and the exclusion dip-switches 2 and 3 on OFF, ensure the regulation of the stroke after a manual operation.
2
Connect the control inputs: P.P. (23), Open (24), Close (25).
3
Connect the power supply 24VDC (15,16) and any possible devices connected to the control unit (photocells, receivers, ...) keeping the correct polarity.
Connect the flashing light and the "Open Gate Indicator", if present, (lamps 24V, 3W)
4
After checking the connections again, power the control unit at input terminals 230VAC (1,2). When the unit is on, the LED PWR-P, PWR-L, STOP, FTC,
ASA, ASC should be on. At least one of the FCA or FCC LEDs should be on. The LED PROG should flash.
5
The first operation of the control unit is carried out at reduced speed to measure the gate movement
Adjust the trimmer PA and PC to half their value.
Send an opening control signal (Open, P.P., remote control).
The control unit performs a pre-warning flashing and then starts the opening phase until either the gate limit switch or the gate mechanical stopper are
reached. The adjustment operation ends when the limit switch or the stopper are reached. The procedure is not completed if the motor is stopped by a
control signal (P.P., STOP, photocell,..).
N.B.: If the gate carries out the closing movement first instead of the opening one, invert the positions of the motor wires (terminal 7,8,).
At end of adjustment, the control unit will remove automatically 3 cm from the gate stroke, in both the opening and closing phases.
6
After the stroke regulation, the trimmers PA and PC should be adjusted, allowing the maximum power supplied to the motor.
To adjust the trimmer PA, while starting an opening operation, move the trimmer towards the minimum value (clockwise) until the limiting device is
triggered with a subsequent short movement reversion. Increase then gradually the threshold until an optimal regulation is obtained. The procedure for
trimmer PC is the same and concerns the closing operations.
7
Preset the dip-switches and the programmable functions according to requirements (it is not necessary to switch the control unit off and on).
N.B.: Usually, after modifying the time of Soft Start/Stop, the gate stroke should be regulated again.
Important: in order to ensure the good operation of the photocells during adjustment, connect the negative of the control unit (terminal 16) to the ground (earth).
Warnings
Manual release
When the motor is released, the normally closed contact connected between terminals +V (27) and COM.FC (28) opens.
If the FCA (20) and FCC (21) inputs are connected to terminal COM.FC (28) and the exclusion dip-switches 2 and 3 are on OFF, when the first opening
control is sent after the motor blocking the control unit carries out the stroke regulation again.
Troubles relevant to the gate stroke
After adjustment, if the gate does not carry out a correct stroke, check the following:
1) The clearance of the sensor from the magnetic ring on the motor cap must not be larger than 1 mm.
In this case, place the sensor slightly nearer the motor shaft, carefully pushing the sensor with a screw driver.
2) If the gate lays against mechanical stoppers, use the adjustment function of the closure distance.
Buffer batteries
- If buffer batteries are used (2x12V in series), to remove completely the power supply to the control unit disconnect the terminal "0V" (12).
- The built-in battery charger in the control unit needs some days to completely recharge the batteries.
- During operation with batteries, the motor has a movement speed slightly lower than the normal operation, irrespective of the charge level of the
batteries.
- The right connection of batteries is as follows:
Dip-switch functions - table 4
DSW1 Operating mode for input "P.P."
OFF: Open/STOP/Close/STOP sequence
ON: Open/Close sequence
DSW2 Function "Automatic closure"
OFF: Disabled
ON: Enabled
For safety reasons, the function "Automatic closure" is always disabled after a control signal at the "STOP" inputs, or if an obstacle is detected by a
rev. sensor. If the motor is off, a control signal at the "ASA" and "ASC" inputs does not block the "Automatic closure" function.
DSW3 "Multi-user" function: the input "P.P." does not stop the motor during the opening phase. At completion of the opening phase, the input "P.P" is
enabled for the gate closure.
OFF: Disabled
ON: Enabled
DSW4 "Pre-warning" function: the flashing light is activated 3 seconds before the starting of each operation.
OFF: Disabled
ON: Enabled
