BAL.0085 • 2017-03-02
6 Slide the sharpened liner (3) through the wire conduit up to the retaining
nipple. Then screw down the nut and tighten it using the switch key wrench.
7 Screw in the contact tip (10) and attach the gas nozzle (9).
NOTICE
• New, as yet unused PA liners have to be shortened to the actual length of
the cable assembly.
• For PA liners with an outer diameter of 4.00 mm, the capillary tube in the
distance adaptor must be replaced with a guide tube.
• We recommend that you sharpen the PA liner to an angle of 40° before
mounting using the ABICOR BINZEL sharpener.
 Fig. 2 Mounting on page EN-8
For using aluminium, copper, nickel and stainless steels:
1 Use the ABICOR BINZEL sharpener (6) to sharpen the start of the
PA liner (5) to an angle of about 40°. Then slide the PA liner (5) through
the wire conduit until you feel it reach the contact tip (10).
2 Slide the clamp nipple, O-ring and nut onto the PA liner (5) and tighten the
nut under tension.
3 Mark the excess length of PA liner (5) in front of the wire feed rolls and use
the ABICOR BINZEL cutter (4) to cut it off at the mark.
4 Sharpen the interface using the sharpener (6).
WARNING

Risk of burns

The cable assembly overheats if the coolant level is too low.
• Wear the correct protective gloves.
• Check the coolant level at regular intervals.
1 Join the central connector and central socket at the wire feed unit and
secure them with the connection nut.
2 Properly mount the connections for coolant supply/return, shielding gas
and control lead plug.
5 Putting into operation
