Descaling

Hints and tips:
The service life of the appliance will be extended if you descale the unit on a regular
basis. The length of the descaling intervals depends upon the hardness of the water.
If you use a commercially available descaler please also observe the instructions
provided by the manufacturer.
1. Pour around 300 ml of water into the tank and add the descaler with citric acid or
vinegar essence (approx. 5% acid).
2. Perform a brewing process until the descaler has passed through the unit.
3. Rinse the water tank thoroughly.
4. Allow the machine to brew two tank-fulls of clear water through the unit.
5. Rinse all parts in hot water and washing-up liquid before using the unit to produce
espresso again.
