Troubleshooting Chart
Symptom
Excessive over-
spray
Poor spray pattern
Motor overheats
Motor hums, but
unit doesn't spray

Possible Cause(s)
1. Spraying too far away
from surface
2. Paint too thin
3. Pressure too high
4. Spray tip worn
1. Suction tube pulling air
2. Paint too thick
1. Operating sprayer for a
prolonged period
2. Extension cord too thin
1. Control knob needs to be
adjusted
2. Piston stoppage after
spraying acrylic paint
3. Not cleaning or lubricat-
ing after use will cause
piston block
Corrective Action
1. Work at a closer dis-
tance, approx. 1 foot
from surface
2. Thicken mixture by
adding unthinned paint
to thinned paint
3. Adjust pressure knob
lower (counterclockwise)
4. Replace spray tip
1. Fill canister with more
paint
2. Thin according to manu-
facturer's instructions
1. Let sprayer cool down at
frequent intervals
2. Check chart on page 2
for proper cord gauge
1. Adjust control knob
until desired spray is
achieved
2. Remove piston assembly
and thoroughly clean all
parts. Use lubricant
additive for acrylic paint.
3. Always clean cylinder
and piston thoroughly
after each use. Use lubri-
cant additive and
reassemble for use
