Functions and description

The rollbeam is a transportable temporary anchorage point which
is compatible with H or I-shaped beams. This device conforms to
standard EN 795 class B (CE 0197).
The strength of the rollbeam is greater than 15 kN.
The Rollbeam must only be used by one person. However, one
beam may be fitted with a number of rollbeams, depending on the
strength of that beam and its support structure (figure 1 and 2).

Maintenance and storage

When it is not fitted on a beam, the rollbeam should be stored
in a clean, dry place.
If the rollbeam is dirty (dust, deposits, etc), clean it with a
synthetic brush.

Before and during use, you must consider how any necessa-
ry rescue operation could be efficiently and safely carried out.
Assembling the device
1. Carefully remove the various parts from the cardboard
packaging. If there are any problems, express the usual
reservations to the carrier.
2. Place the clamp plate without a label in front of you and take
hold of the threader bar by the end which has three holes.
3. Insert the threader bar in this clamp plate, turning it clock
wise until the threads engage (*).
4. Place the second clamp plate (with the label) in front of
the other end of the threader bar (which has three holes)
®
.
and continue to rotate the crosspiece (*). Stop when this
protrudes approximately 15 mm beyond each side of the
clamp plates.
5. Fit the handle and turn it clockwise to tighten the clamp
plates.
6. Remove the handle and tighten the locknuts either side of
the threader bar (nuts in place but not locked).
7. Place a bronze plug in the bore on each clamp plate and
screw in the Allen screws until the thread engages (screws
in place but not tightened).
(*) If during this stage the threads do not engage, it is possible
that the threader bar is the wrong way round. If this is the case,
remove the threader bar and insert the other end of the threader
bar in the clamp plate. Under no circumstances should force be
applied to the threader bar as this could damage the threads.
Installation
• Before installing the rollbeam on a beam, the resistance of
the materials of the beam must be calculated by a qualified
person. The support structure must be capable of withstan-
ding a static force of 10 kN per rollbeam. The structure must
be checked at all points where a fall could occur.
• It is essential to check that the equipment used is suitable for
the clearance of the installation
• The beam must have end stops at each end.
• The operator must be in a safe position during installation
and removal of the rollbeam.
• The beam must be horizontal.
1. Fit the handle on the threader bar.
2. Check that the two Allen screws are not tightened on the
threader bar.
