3. Operation
Verification before use (figure 3):
• Before each use, check that the anchoring de-
vice appears to be in good condition, with no
marks, evidence of impact, or deformation. If
this is not so, do not use the device; inform the
user.
• Verify that the fall-arrest system connector
is compatible with the diameter (fig. 4, lbl. E)
of the anchor ring (fig. 1, lbl. 1) and that the
connector opening is compatible with the at-
tachment cross-section (fig. 4, lbl. G) of the
anchoring device.
"DANGER": For the operator's safety, it is
essential that the connector is correctly
locked from the moment it is attached to
the anchoring device.
• After installation, verify that the connector(s) of
the fall-arrest system(s) naturally align(s) with
the direction in which the operator may fall, with
no risk that a connector might become stuck or
interfere with (e.g. wrap around) the anchoring
device (fig. 1, lbl. 3) and/or the elements affix-
ing said device to the host structure (figs. 2 and
3, lbl. 9, 10).
• Check the condition of the fall-arrest system
components. Refer to the specific manuals for
each equipment item.
• Check the complete fall-arrest system.
• Before using an anchoring device such as a
travsafe
ringsafe, check that the fall indicator
TM
(fig. 1, lbl. 5) is not broken.
• When using a travsafe™ PO-type anchoring
device, check that this device is correctly tight-
ened onto the steel plate.
• Verify that the anchoring device has undergone
a routine inspection within the last year. (Fig,
3, lbl. 19).
