Battery mode

(Battery switch – fig. 4 2, page 4 – is switched to "BATTERY ON")
You can operate the cooler with an external power supply or with
the internal battery.
Note
I
If you want to operate the cooler independent of the mains, please
check that the internal battery is charged.
The charging display (fig. 4 3, page 4) shows the current charge
status. Charge the internal battery if necessary before use.
When the internal battery is charged, the intelligent battery monitor
checks every 30 minutes whether sufficient voltage is available
(see chapter "Battery monitor" on page 35). This check requires
approximately three minutes. During this time, the display also re-
mains switched off.
When the battery is fully charged, the cooler can be operated for
up to 18 hours without an external power supply (at +5 °C interior
temperature and +32 °C ambient temperature). The lifetime and
performance for the battery depend on environmental factors (am-
bient temperature, charging cycles, load etc.).
In battery mode, the cooler checks whether you connect an
external power supply:
External power supply connected: The cooler operates
automatically with the external power supply. The internal
battery is recharged if it is not already fully loaded.
If the external supply is shut off or the external voltage falls below
12.2 V, the charging process is ended. If the cooler is switched
on, it remains so until the internal battery has discharged. In this
case, the cooler emits a beeping sound and signals that it is no
longer operationally ready.
The internal battery is (if necessary) also charged if the
cooler is switched off (main switch to "OFF",
battery switch to "BATTERY ON").
No external power supply connected: The cooler operates
with the internal battery. Depending on how full the internal
battery is, the cooler then operates for a variably corresponding
period. If the internal battery is empty, the cooler emits a beeping
sound and signals that it is no longer operationally ready.
