Insertion and replacement of disposable /
rechargeable batteries
1. Turn the flash unit off with the main switch (4).
2. Slide the battery compartment cover (9) to-
wards the outside of the flash unit.
3. Insert the batteries according to the symbols
on the inside of the battery compartment
lid.
Important:
Incorrect polarity, i.e. incorrectly inserted bat-
teries can result in the damage to the device.
• New and used batteries or batteries from dif-
ferent manufacturers should not be used to-
gether.
• The battery contacts must be kept clean. Dis-
posable batteries must not be thrown into
fire, recharged, opened, dismantled or heat-
ed.
• Used batteries must be removed as soon as
possible.
• If the flash unit is not to be used for a pro-
longed period, the batteries should be re-
moved.
4. Close the battery compartment lid (9) and
slide it against the flash unit base (8).
Disposal of batteries
Please use the available disposal systems for
the return of used batteries in your respective
country.
In Germany:
As a consumer, you are legally obliged to re-
turn used batteries. You can return your used
batteries free of charge anywhere where batter-
ies are sold. The same applies at the public
collection points provided in your town or by
your local authority.
You will find this symbol on batteries that con-
tain harmful substances:
Pb = battery / rechargeable battery contains lead
Cd = battery / rechargeable battery contains cadmium
Hg = battery / rechargeable battery contains mercury
Li = battery contains lithium
