Automatic device shutdown AUTO OFF
The factory settings of the flash unit are set
such that, "immediately if required by the
camera", for example for image reproduction
or camera standby or approx. 3 minutes,
- after switching on,
- after adjustment,
- or after triggering a flash, the camera
switches over to the energy-saving standby
mode (AUTO-OFF), to protect power sources
from unintended discharge. The flash-ready in-
dicator (6) and the indicators on the LCD (2) go
out. The most recently used operating setting is
retained after automatic shutdown and is imme-
diately restored when the camera is switched
on. The flash unit can be turned on again by
pressing any button or by activating the camera
in photographic mode (Wake Up Function).
If the flash unit is not required for a longer pe-
riod, it should always be turned off with the
main switch.
Settings on the LEICA D-LUX 4 for
operation with the LEICA CF 22
All flash operating modes are also available
when the LEICA CF 22 is used with the LEICA
D-LUX 4.
When the flash unit is switched on, another
symbol appears in the display of the LEICA
D-LUX 4 – in addition to the symbol for set
flash operating mode – indicating that a flash
unit is attached. This symbol varies according
to
1. Which operating mode is set on the flash
TTL
unit (see also „
ing pre-flash", p. 31 and "
manual operating mode", p. 32),
and
2. Whether the flash mode is activated or
deactivated on the camera (with the right
cross button / in corresponding menu) of
the flash mode.
