Note:
To ensure a correct indication, the reflector
status (operation with wide-angle diffuser or
operation without diffuser) on the flash unit
must be adjusted by hand to the appropriate
camera values (see "Illumination and reflector
diffuser", p. 30).The range indication can be
optionally set to metres (m) or feet (ft) (see
"Switching over between metres/feet", p. 28).
Range indication in flash mode
TTL
In flash mode
, the value for the maxi-
mum range is displayed in the LC Display of
the flash unit. The value indicated relates to
subjects with a reflection factor of 25 %, which
applies to most photographic situations.
Strong deviations from this reflection factor,
as in the case of highly reflective (e.g. bright or
shiny) or poorly reflective (e.g. dark or matt)
subjects, may affect the flash range of the
flash unit.
Note the value shown in the range indication
in the LC Display of the flash unit. The subject
should be in the range of 40 % to 70 % of the
value displayed.
This will give the electronics sufficient scope
for compensation.
To avoid overexposure, the minimum distance
to the subject should not be less than 10 % of
the indicated value! The adjustment to the re-
spective photographic situation can be achieved
by changing the lens aperture and/or the ISO
sensitivity and/or the distance to the subject.

flash mode
The distance shown in the LC Display of the
flash unit should be maintained to ensure cor-
rect flash exposure of the subject. Adjustment
to the respect photographic situation can be
achieved by changing the lens aperture or by
choosing between full light power
tial lighting power
"Technical Data", p. 39).
