(Model F3N):
6 RECORD mode, if used, will record the inrush current of the motor. When the motor has
reached its rated speed, press the HOLD button to stop the recording, then press the
MIN/MAX button to read the MAX, MIN and AVG reached since engaging RECORD mode.
Remark: the rated speed of the motor N (in r.p.m.) is given by:
N = F / P, where F is the measured frequency (in Hz).

LOW VOLTAGE DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMERS

Measurements of excessive current, load balance between
phases, and the harmonic content of neutral.
1 Press the ON/OFF button to switch on the clamp.
2 Position the clamp around one of the phase conductors.
3 Read the TRMS current value.
Repeat this operation for each phase to discover any imbalance.
4 Position the clamp around the neutral conductor.
5 Read the TRMS current value on the display.
6 Press the Hz button to measure the current frequency in
the neutral conductor, a reading of 150 Hz or more on a mains supply network of 50 Hz
indicates the presence of non-linear loads.
7 Press the HOLD button to freeze the readings on the display.

GENERATOR SETS

Measurements of excessive current and frequency
(adjustment of generator speed).
1 Press the ON/OFF button to switch on the clamp.
2 Connect the generator output to a load of 200 watts
minimum (to obtain a minimum current of 1 A) using an
adaptor lead.
3 Clamp around the adaptor lead and switch on the generator.
Check that the jaws of the clamp are correctly closed,
otherwise the measurements will be inaccurate.
4 Read the TRMS current value on the display.
5 Press the Hz button to measure frequency. Adjust the
generator speed control to obtain display of the correct
frequency.
P, the number of pairs of poles of the motor.
