6.6.1. Reciprocating File Systems

The angles of reciprocation are precise and specific to the design of the instrument and to the
WaveOne endo motor.

If one of above mentioned reciprocating files have been chosen, the display reading in the first
row will show RECIPROCATING.
It is possible to select the different reciprocating systems by selecting the system via the + and
– keys.
"ALL" is displayed. This means that all the files of the system have the same settings and
individual files can't be selected.
WARNINGS
 Do not use files designed for continuous rotation in reciprocating motion.
 Do not use files designed for reciprocating motion in continuous rotation.
NOTE
 For reciprocating files, the settings including speed and torque cannot be adjusted.
 Reciprocating files can be distinguished from continuous rotary files by their special design:
the spiral is inverted and the shaft is equipped with a colored plastic ring.
In reciprocating motion, an acoustic feedback (beep) appears when the torque limit is
exceeded. If this occurs, do not press the file in the root canal, remove the file from the root
canal and clean the flutes.
If the maximum torque is achieved, the motor will stop. If this occurs, remove the file from the
root canal, clean the flutes and restart again.
NOTE
In reciprocating motion, the ASR function is disabled.
