OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The master treatment unit, which has the
E4 user interface on-board, makes a cyclical
transmission through the save units, setting
the following information:
✓ Regulation setpoint
✓ Operating mode (OFF, AUTO, V1, V2, V3,
AUX)
✓ Operating season
✓ Fin motor activation
The slave air treatment units cannot
therefore function (except in special cases)
with settings different from those set by
the master.
Ambient probe: The ambient regulation
probe is not necessary on the slave units
since they can use the master probe if
needed. In order to avoid miroclimates,
it is possible to install it on the slave
units, which will then regulate with their
respective probes. If the probe on the
master fails, the salves without a probe will
operate in emergency mode (similarly to
the master) while the slaves with a probe
will continue to operate in normal mode.
Water probe: the water probe can be
installed in the various units of the TTL
network, the air treatments with probe will
use it to check the minimum and maximum
set values while in the units without a
water probe the ventilation will always be
enabled.
Anti-freeze function: The anti-freeze
function is the only case in which a slave in
this state can operate according to settings
not set by the master. In general, whether
they are master or slave units, when they
enter anti-freeze mode, they begin to
operate as follows.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
Insufficient air flow at outlet.
Unit does not heat.
Unit does not cool.
Fan not turning.
Condensation forming on the
external case of the unit.
For any problems not listed, contact the After Sales Service immediately.

FAULTS ON THE TTL NETWORK
A B S E N C E
COMMUNICATION: the slave units wait
for zone settings cyclically from the master
unit. If a slave unit no longer communicates
for any reason, with the master unit is goes
into the OFF state (or all loads are turned
off) 10 minutes after the last correctly
received command.
ABSENCE OF MASTER-USER INTERFACE
COMMUNICATION:
if, at a certain point, the master no longer
communicates with the user interface, it
goes into OFF status 10 minutes after the
last command correctly received from the
user interface. The master will also send
the OFF command to all the slaves. The
user interface will then give visual blinking
fuchsia LED + thermostat LED signals to
indicate that there is no communication.
TTL NETWORK RESTRICTIONS
The restriction regards the management
of the regulation dead band. As a matter
of fact, it is sufficient to set the dead band
on the master unit in that it will be ignored
on the save units since both the setpoint
and the operating season depends on the
master in any case.
EMERGENCY OPERATION OF THE TTL
NETWORK
Ambient Probe not fitted on the Master
Unit
The operating principle of the master
thermostat when it functions without the
ambient probe (or with a fault in its own
probe) is described in the paragraphs on
Ambient Probe not fitted (2 pipes).
PROBABLE CAUSE
Incorrect speed setting on control panel.
Blocked filter.
Obstructed air flow (inlet and/or outlet).
No hot water.
Incorrect control panel setting.
No cold water.
Incorrect control panel setting.
No electrical power.
Water has not reached operating temperature.
The water has not reached operating temperature.
Temperature and humidity limits specified by "MINIMUM AVER-
AGE WATER TEMPERATURE" have been reached.
O F
M A S T E R - S L A V E
SOLUTION
Select the correct speed on the control panel.
Clean the filter.
Remove the obstacle.
Check the boiler.
Set the control panel.
Check the chiller.
Set the control panel.
Check that there is electrical power.
Check heater or chiller.
Check thermostat setting.
Raise the water temperature above the limits specified by
"MINIMUM AVERAGE WATER TEMPERATURE".
Ambient Probe not fitted on the Slave Unit
The Slave thermostat cards go into
emergency function if there is a fault in
not only the slave unit's probe but also
that of the master unit. In fact, according
to what has been stated before, if the slave
unit's probe fails while the master unit's
probe operates properly, the slave units
will continue to operate using that of the
master unit. However, if the slave units
begin to operate in emergency mode they
should be made to operate at the speed
selected in the user interface and the
valve will be opened (for 2-pipe and 4-pipe
systems). In addition, when operating in
emergency mode, the slave units do not
follow the logic of ON-OFF cycles based on
the position of the temperature selector,
but they are always in the ON phase with
the ventilation always functioning.

NETWORK
Master: the thermostat provides a series
of controls on the ambient temperature
in order to prevent it from dropping to
freezing values. If the master unit is
operating in this state, it will make all
the slave units operate in AUTO mode
with a setpoint of 12°C, even if they are
functioning in normal operation mode.
Slave: If one of the slave units is in the
operating logic according to anti-freeze
protection (even if the master illogically
operates in normal mode), it will begin
to operate in AUTO mode with a setpoint
of 12°C. This is the only case in which the
slave unit operates according to settings
different from those imposed by the
master unit.
