GENERAL NOTES
The life of a test lead depends on the frequency and
severity of its use.
• Use care when inserting the respective connector
plugs, either on the tester or the regulator to be tested.
• Always remove the plugs by pulling on the housings
not the wires.
• Inspect the condition of the various terminals
periodically and have the lead repaired if needed.
If a test lead is suspected of not working correctly try the
lead using a known good OEM regulator.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. All products are intended to be purchased and
installed by proffessional automotive electricians.
The customer has the responsibility of determining
the suitability of the product for any particular
application.
The installation and operation of all products must
be done in a manner so as to prevent high voltage
and/or excessive overcharging of batteries.
2. Do NOT attempt to adjust the voltage on adjustable regulators
with the alternator producing more than 10 to 15 amp. To do so
will make the voltage setting too high when the charging rate
returns to a lower level.
3. Always work in a well ventilated area. Never start a vehicle's
engine in an enclosed area without proper exhaust ventilation.
4. Never smoke or allow any other open flame to come within 25
feet of the vehicle being tested or the test equipment being used.
5. Always insure that everyone within close proximity of the
vehicle being tested or the equipment being used is correctly
wearing approved safety/protective glasses before proceeding
with testing.

Der RT-88 Funktionstester wurde speziell zur Testen
von Ford 6G Lichtmaschinen/Reglern mit folgenden
Anschlüssen entwickelt:
"I"(L)-"__"(unbelegt)-"(Sensing)
= Standardprüfung
"I"(L)-"GLI"(FR)-"A"(Sensing)
= Standardprüfung
"GEN-MON"(FR)-"GEN-COM"(SIG)-"A"(Sensing)
= Signalprüfung
Der RT-88 wird für die folgenden Tests verwendet:
• Funktion der Spannungsregulierung des Reglers.
• "Keine Ladung" Kontrollleuchtenfunktion
(falls verwendet)
• Sendet ein digitales SIGNAL an den "GEN-
COM"(SIG) Anschluss (falls verwendet), um den

connecting or disconnecting any and all test equipment.
7. Always exercise extreme caution to insure that hands, arms,
clothing and tester leads are kept away from all moving engine
parts or test equipment parts.
8. Because the battery may produce highly explosive gasses,
it is extremely important that you carefully observe the following
precautions:
a. Do NOT smoke or allow any other open flame or spark within
25 feet of the battery.
b. Never directly connect the positive and negative battery posts
together with any conductive material (such as a screwdriver,
jumper lead, etc.) as this will cause a short circuit and the spark
could result in an explosion.
9. Battery acid and carrosion can be extremely dangerous and
must be dealt with very carefully.
a. Do NOT allow battery acid or corrosion to come in direct
contact with skin or eyes. If it does, thoroughly wash skin with
warm soapy water immediately and/or rinse eyes with clear water
for 15-20 minutes.
CONTACT PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY.
b. Extreme caution must be exercised to avoid ingestion of
battery acid or corrosive. If ingestion does occur. CONTACT
PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY.

wenn die Anschlussmarkierungen unbekannt sind.
ACHTUNG: DER TESTER KANN NICHT DIE
VERSION EINES UNBEKANNTEN REGLERS
FESTSTELLEN, WENN DER REGLER DEFEKT IST.
Einige der Ford-Regler haben über die bloße
Steuerung der Wechselspannung hinausgehende
Fähigkeiten. Sie "interagieren" mit dem Fahrzeug.
Deshalb ist der RT-88 Funktionstester ein
Multifunktionsgerät, mit dem mehrere Testschritte
durchgeführt und ausgewertet werden können.
