Function
This locomotive comes with a built-in high-effici-
ency propulsion (37...) and offers these features:
G Can be operated with conventional AC power
(no. 6646 or 6647 transformer, 32 VA), Märklin
Delta or Märklin Digital. This locomotive is not
designed for operation with locomotive controllers
for other systems (examples: DC power, pulse
width control, multi-train controls of other makes).
G Automatic recognition of the mode of operation.
G 80 Digital (5 Delta) addresses can be set with
coding switches.
G Maximum speed and acceleration / braking delay
can be changed (braking delay works only with
Märklin Delta or Digital).
G Headlights that change over with the direction of
travel can be turned on / off in digital operation or
in operation with the Delta-Control 4f (Nr. 66045).
The headlights will vary in brightness with the speed
of the locomotive when the latter is operated
with AC power. The headlights are off at all
times when the locomotive is operated with the
6604 Delta-Control. The headlights are on at all
times when the locomotive is operated with the
6607 Delta-Station.

G Built-in sound effects circuit to reproduce the typi-
cal operating sounds of an ALCO diesel electric
locomotive. The sound effects can be turned on
and off when the locomotive is operated with the
6021 Control-Unit. The sound effects are on con-
stantly in all other modes of operation as long as
there is sufficient voltage present in the track for
the sound effects circuit. The diesel sounds from
this circuit vary with the speed of the locomotive.
G Depending on the model being offered, this loco-
motive comes with a booster unit without a con-
trol circuit. These models can be identified by the
item number from the 49xxx numbering series.
The electronic circuit in the 37xxx version can also
control and supply power to the 49xxx version.
This takes place via a cable connection and a
permanent coupling between the two models.
Caution: It is not possible to combine two
37xxx versions of this locomotive with this
type of connection. If the two decoders are
connected in this fashion, it will cause
damage to the locomotives!
It is also not possible to connect this locomotive
to any visually similar looking TRIX models.
G Minimum radius required for operation:
360 mm / 14-3/16".
