The Low Frequency Effect
attenuater diminishes the
distortion of the bass sound
from the subwoofer while
playing back a disc with Dolby
Digital or DTS Digital Surround.
D. RANGE COMPRESSION
You can enjoy a powerful sound
at night even at a low volume
level when listening to the
sound with Dolby Digital.

The outputs of the left and right front speakers are identical.
• L –21 to L –1 and R –1 to R –21
As the number increases, the output from one speaker becomes smaller than the other
speaker's. (When you select "–21," you cannot output the sound from the speaker.)
Within the range from –10 to +10 (by 2 step).
• ON
Select this to diminish the distortion of the bass sound from the subwoofer.
• OFF
To cancel this function.
• MAX
Select this when you want to apply the compression effect fully (useful at midnight).
• MID
Select this when you want to reduce the dynamic range a little.
• OFF
Select this when you want to enjoy surround with its full dynamic range (no effect
applied).
