7. Installing the Filter Cartridges
The cartridges are identified by a model number.
Cartridge #1 = 1750R
Cartridge #2 = 1250R
Install the cartridges in order. If the cartridges are installed out of
order the system will not filter correctly.
A) The system is designed to ensure proper alignment of the
cartridge to the filter head assembly prior to installation.
B) Place hand on filter head assembly to steady the system. Line
up the blade on the cartridge with the slot in the head. Slide
the cartridge filter up into the head assembly until it can go no
further. Rotate the cartridge clockwise 1/4-turn until the cartridge
snaps into place. Gently pull down on the cartridge to be certain
the cartridge is locked in place. (Figure 8)

8. Placing the System into Operation
A) Slowly turn on the cold water supply.
B) Flush filter for 10 minutes through the drinking water faucet.
Discard water.
C) Check for leaks at all fittings before leaving installation. If leaks
appear, see Troubleshooting.
D) A filter cartridge change indication sticker is included. Fill in the
bottom half and secure it to the cartridge.
NOTE: A drinking water cartridge may contain carbon fines (very fine
black powder). If carbon fines appear in the water, discard water.
More flushing is required if carbon fines are present.
NOTE: Initially, filtered water may appear cloudy. If cloudiness in
a glass of water disappears from the bottom; fine air bubbles are
present. This air within the water will disappear within a few weeks
after installation.
E) Gently pull the cartridge straight out to ensure the cartridge is
locked into place.
INSTALLATION IS NOW COMPLETE.

FILTER CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT

NOTE: The life of a filter cartridge depends on water volume used
and the quality of the feed water. It is recommended that the filter
cartridges be replaced every 6 months, or when there is a noticeable
change in taste, odor, or flow of filtered water.
Ensure that the correct cartridges are purchased for the system.

Read all instructions before replacing the filter cartridges.
A) Relieve pressure by turning off the water supply to the system
and opening a faucet until water flow stops. Place a bucket or
towel under the system to catch any water drips.
B) Place hand on filter head assembly to steady the system. Rotate
the filter cartridge 1/4-turn counterclockwise until no resistance
is felt. Pull the cartridge down and straight out from the filter
head assembly (Figure 9).
C) Place hand on filter head assembly to steady the system. Align
the blades on the replacement filter cartridge with the slots in
the filter head assembly. Slide the cartridge filter up into the filter
head assembly until it can go no further. Rotate the cartridge
clockwise 1/4-turn until the cartridge snaps in place (Figure
10). Repeat for second cartridge. See Placing the System into
Operation section for remaining steps.
