Daily Maintenance and Pre-Starting Inspection
Operator Cab Air Cleaner
Located at rear outside of cab, this filter must be removed and tapped lightly against a
tire to remove dirt. Handle with care to avoid damage. Wipe the rubber seal around the
air filter with a damp cloth. Make sure that the filter seal is seated properly and cap is
reinstalled correctly. Incorrect installation may void warranty.
A/C Recirculation Air Cleaner
Located inside cab, behind operator seat at left side, this filter must be removed and
tapped lightly against a tire to remove dirt. Handle with care.
Radiator, Oil Cooler, and A/C Condenser
These units must be blown free of dust and debris daily. Use rubber-tipped tube to
direct compressed air through cores from both front and back of each. Check for loose
belts, hoses, and connections.
Fuel
Quality fuel is vital to getting long-term engine performance. Fuels must be clean and
non-corrosive to all engine parts. Buy only from a reputable dealer. Use ASTM Number
2-D low sulfur diesel fuel (see engine manual). The Bankout tank capacity is 23 U.S.
gallons.
Avoid using fuel which has been stored too long or has been allowed to accumulate
scale, dirt, or water. Clear all dirt and debris from around the fuel filler before removing
the cap. Fill the fuel tank daily or at the end of each shift to minimize condensation of
water inside the tank. Do not fill the fuel tank while smoking or while the engine is
running!
