9 Cleaning

Components filled with reagent
The cylinder, valves, telescopic filling tube and discharge tube contain reagent!
> Never remove the discharge tube while the dispensing cylinder is filled.
> Point the valves and tube openings away from your body.
> Wear protective clothing, eye protection and protective gloves!
The instrument must be cleaned in the following situations to assure correct operation:
prior to first use
immediately when the piston is difficult to
move
prior to a reagent change
prior to long term storage
prior to dismantling the instrument
Autoclaving the instrument is not permitted!

9.1 Standard cleaning

1. Completely emptying the instrument
a.
Screw the instrument onto an empty bottle and empty it completely by dispensing. If the instru-
ment is equipped with a recirculation valve, it must be emptied in both the 'dispense' and 'recir-
culate' settings.
2. Rinsing the instrument
a.
Screw the instrument onto a bottle filled with a suitable cleaning agent (e.g. deionized water)
and rinse the instrument several times by completely filling and emptying it.
3. Rinsing in recirculating position (optional)
a.

regularly when liquids accumulate in the
screw cap
If the instrument is equipped with a recirculation valve, it
must also be rinsed in recirculating position after rinsing the
instrument.

Set the recirculation valve to "recirculate" and fill and
discharge the instrument several times.
