HOW TO CALCULATE THE DISPENSER FLOW:
The following information is necessary for calculating the flow:
- Number of livestock heads being fed.
- Amount of feed per head.
- Length of the feed trough.
- Travel speed of the tractor (based on the gear used).
Let's take a look at the following situation so that we can demonstrate how to calculate this:
- Number of livestock heads being fed = 100
- Amount of feed per head = 2 kg
- Length of feed trough = 80 meters
- Travel speed of tractor = 3 km/hour
The calculation:
TOTAL FEED PER FEEDING
Number of heads X amount of feed per head = 100 x 2 = 200 kg
FLOW PER FEEDING
Total feed per feeding = 200 kg = 2,5 km/m
Length of feed trough 80m
REQUIRED FLOW PER FEEDING
Flow per feeding X Tractor speed = 2,5 Kg/m X 3 Km/h = 125 Kg/min

PRACTICAL TEST FOR CHECKING FLOW
Open the dispenser (place the dispenser scale pointer in the 5) position.
Turn on the Wagon.
Let it flow for about 10 seconds, in order to fill the Wagon chute with the product.
Close the dispenser (place the dispenser scale pointer again in the 0) position.
Place a recipient (a bag, for example) in the opening of the chute, for collecting the product being
unloaded and then afterwards weighing it.
Open the dispenser again (the pointer in 5) position and let it flow for 1 minute. Weigh the unloaded
product, and this is how to calculate the flow per kg/min.
IMPORTANT: The above test measures the actual flow of the product in the 5 position, then to
increase or decrease the flow, move the scale to more or less, based on your needs.
NOTE: The Wagon must be empty in order to perform the test.
