All repair work shall be performed by the manufacturer.
Allotherworkormodificationsvoidthewarrantyand
releases CMC from all liability and responsibility as the
manufacturer.
5. COMPATIBILITY
Equipment used with this harness must meet regulatory
requirements in your jurisdiction and/or country. Verify that
this product is compatible with the other equipment in the
system and that its intended applications meet current
standards. Use only EN 362 connectors for connecting
system components to the harness. Personal Fall Protec-
tion Systems shall follow the requirements of EN 363.
When used as an EN 361 full body harnesses, fall arrest
systems can be coupled with EN 355 energy absorbers,
EN 360 retractable type fall arrester, EN 353-1/2, EN 354
lanyards or other systems described in EN 363. When
used according to EN 813 and EN 358 for restraint, work
positioning, rope access or other work at height, PPE not
intended for fall arrest can be coupled with EN 354 or EN
358 lanyards, EN12841 rope adjustment devices, etc.
When combining this product with other equipment and/
or using this product in a rescue/fall arrest system, users
must understand the instructions of all components prior to
use and comply with them to ensure that safety aspects of
these items do not interfere with each other. This product
should only be used in connection with PPE components
bearing the CE-symbol to protect against falls from heights.
Anchor points used to secure you must be designed in
suchawaythat,whenfixingthePPE,noeffectscanoccur
which reduce the integrity or cause damage during use.
Sharp edges, ridges, and crushing can seriously impair the
integrity. Anchor components should be covered, where
necessary, using suitable protectors. The anchor point and
the anchor system must be able to withstand the expected
loads in a worst-case scenario. Even when using shock
absorbers (according to EN 355) the anchor points should
be designed for catching forces of at least 12 kN, and meet
the requirements of EN 795.
WARNING: Danger may arise and functionality may be
compromised by combining other equipment with this
product. User assumes all responsibility for non-standard
use of this product or added components.
FALL ARREST HARNESS EN 361:2002
Connection of the harness to a rescue or fall arrest
system according to EN 363 takes place at the fall arrest
attachment point (designated by "A" label on the harness),
use only carabiners complying with EN 362.
Anchor points for fall arrest systems should be selected
such that they minimize potential for falls and potential fall
distance. Avoid high loads and swinging falls by setting
anchor points as vertically as possible above the user. The
anchor point must be designed in such a way that, when
fixingthePPE,noeffectscanoccurwhichreducethe
integrity or cause damage during use. Sharp edges, ridges,
and crushing can seriously impair the integrity.
When using a lanyard as part of a fall arrest system, the
maximum overall length of the lanyard including shock
absorbers and connecting components must not exceed
2.0m. The lanyard / anchor device from the anchor point
to the secured user should always be kept as taut as
possible.
Prior to each use in a fall arrest system, it must be ensured
there is necessary free space in the work area beneath the
user, so that in the case of a fall there will be no collision
with the ground or other obstacle in the fall path.
WARNING: Only a full body harness in accordance with
EN 361 may be used with a fall arrest system.
SIT HARNESS EN 813:2008
Intended for progression on rope and work positioning. Use
the ventral attachment point to attach a descender, posi-
tioning lanyards, or progression lanyards. This attachment
point is not suitable for fall arrest.
BELT FOR RESTRAINT AND WORK POSITION-
ING EN 358:2018
Always use the two side attachment points together, by
linking them with a positioning lanyard, in order to be
comfortably supported by the waist belt. The connection
lanyard for work positioning harnesses must be kept
taught,thetie-offoranchorpointmustbeatorabove
waist level.
The harness is equipped with a rear waist belt travel re-
straint web loop (designated by "R" label on the harness).
This rear waist belt attachment point is designed only for
attachment of a restraint system to prevent the user from
entering an area where a fall is possible. These attachment
points are not suitable for fall arrest.
A work positioning belt should not be used if there is a
foreseeable risk of the user becoming suspended or be-
coming exposed to unintended tension on the belt. A back
up or fall arrest system may be required to supplement the
equipment supporting the user for work positioning.
6. HARNESS USE
DONNING AND ADJUSTING THE HARNESS
• Don the Harness with all straps loose. Perform side
entry into the opened waist belt and the opened thigh
loops. Place shoulder braces across the shoulders.
• Secure quick connect buckles at the leg loops and
shoulder straps (if present).
• Position the waist belt and ventral attachment above the
waistline, and tighten waist belt.
• Position the dorsal attachment point level with shoulder
blades and adjust back strap.
• Position sternal attachment point as high as possible
and adjust shoulder straps.
• Tighten rear leg straps, this is especially important if you
use the dorsal point.
• Position the leg loops with padding along back and side
of legs. Tighten leg straps.
• Beforeuse,confirmallstrapsaretight,stowexcessweb
in elastic keepers and apply load to the sternal attach-
mentpointandconfirmpositionofallD-rings.
USE OF DIFFERENT BUCKLE TYPES
• Toloosenadjusterbuckles,flipthemupandpullthem.
• To tighten adjuster buckles, pull the outbound webbing.
• To close quick connect buckles, ensure both wings snap
in place with audible click.
• To open quick connect buckles, hold in both wings and
pull buckles apart.
• Regularly check all closures and adjusting elements.
• Beware of foreign objects that could impede buckle
operation.
HARNESS FIT TEST
• Conduct a comfort and adjustability test in a safe area
to ensure that the harness is the correct size, has
sufficientadjustmentandisofacceptablecomfortfor
the intended use.
• Move and hang in the harness from each attachment
point, with your equipment, to verify that the harness
fitsproperly,providesadequatecomfortfortheintended
use, and is optimally adjusted.
VENTRAL ATTACHMENT POSITION
• The ventral attachment to EN 813:2008 should be at or
above the waistline.
• Ensure correct position of d-ring and waist padding prior
to adjusting other straps.
DORSAL ATTACHMENT POSITION
• The dorsal attachment to EN 361:2002 should be in-line
with the shoulders.
• Loosen or tighten the adjustment buckle for rear strap to
properly position dorsal attachment.
STERNAL ATTACHMENT POSITION
• The sternal attachment point EN 361:2002 should be
placed as high as possible.
• Loosen or tighten shoulder straps and leg straps to
correctly position.
LEG LOOP POSITION
• Ensure leg loop padding is positioned around the leg.
USE OF ACCESSORY LOOPS
• Each gear loop, tool loop, and accessory attachment
point is limited to a weight of 10 kg.
INSTALLING CHEST ASCENDER
• Instructionsandillustrationsreferspecificallytothe
ATOMChestAscenderKit(CMCpart#343500),sold
separately.
• Pull shoulder strap webbing out of the keepers and
adjustment buckles.
• Pass the Chest Ascender Loop over the shoulder straps
to a central point between front D rings.
• Insert the Chest Ascender Loop webbing through the
upper eye of the chest ascender.
• Pass the Chest Ascender Loop webbing over and under
the keeper straps that are behind and below the sternal
attachment point.
• Attach the screw link through the web tunnel shared by
the ventral D-ring.

• Insert the screw link through the chest ascender.
• Close the screw link by hand tightening and then
applying a half turn with a wrench.
• The compatibility of the chest ascender, with the con-
nector and the harness, as well as smooth functioning of
the entire system, has to be ensured by the user and the
user is fully responsible for safe overall use.
• Confirmcompatibilityandfunctioninasafeplacebefore
actual use.
USING A WORK SEAT
• InstructionsandillustrationsreferspecificallytotheCMC
SkySaddle™(CMCpart#202690),soldseparately.
• Loosen the work seat connection straps to full extent,
refer to buckle use instructions.
• Attach the work seat to the harness at the work seat
loops. These loops are exclusively intended for use in
connection with a work seat. User is responsible for
selecting suitable connectors.
• Adjust the work seat connection straps for personal
comfortandfit.
• Confirmcompatibilityandfunctioninasafeplacebefore
actual use.
• The compatibility of the work seat, connectors, and
harness, as well as the smooth functioning of the entire
system, must be ensured by the user and the user is
responsible for safe overall use.
LANYARD CONNECTION
If Y-type lanyards are used in conjunction with an energy
absorber, the energy absorber may not function properly if
one branch of the lanyard is connected to the attachment
point and the second branch to a load bearing part of
the harness. Therefore, it is recommended to attach
the second branch to the harness by means of lanyard
parking loops.
