BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS
COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THE PROPER
FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.
INTENDED USER PROFILE: The intended user should be a licensed medical professional, the
patient or the patient's caregiver. The user should be able to read, understand and be physically
capable of performing the directions, warnings and cautions in the information for use.
INDICATIONS: The Procare Xceltrax Air Walker is designed to provide support and
1 immobilization to the lower leg, ankle and foot. It may be suitable for the treatment of stress
fractures of the lower limb, stable ankle and/or foot fractures, Achilles tendon repair and acute
lateral ankle sprains. Providing immobilization or controlled movement of the limb or body
segment.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Do not use if you are allergic to any of the materials contained within
this product. This device is contraindicated for unstable fractures of the lower leg, ankle and
foot.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS: If you experience any pain, swelling, sensation changes, or
any unusual reactions while using this product, consult your medical professional immediately.
Do not overinflate aircells. Improper aircell inflation may cause significant irritation in patients
with diabetic neuropathy. Reduce aircell presuure with any visual skin changes or reported
discomfort. Do not use this device on patients incapable of communicating physical discomfort.
Like all lower extremity immobilizers, such as casts or braces, patients without sensation (ie:
post-op anesthesia, neuropathies, etc.) should be monitored frequently for skin damage, skin

irritation or wound management.
Use caution when walking on slippery or wet surfaces to avoid injury.
At high altitudes the aircells will expand beyond optimal level. Adjust aircell support by
tightening or loosening straps.
Always inspect before use. Check for broken stitches or parts; torn, cut or frayed material; or
buckles, or hook and loop fasteners that do not hold securely. Do not use damaged product.
Discontinue use when torn, worn, frayed in any way.
Never alter or repair this product or use the device other than intended. This product is not
intended to be used with any other product except DJO approved accessories.
Use a sneaker or street shoe with a ShoeLift TM or equivalent on uninjured foot while ambulating
to compensate for leg length changes while wearing a fracture walking brace.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:

PNEUMATIC Walking Brace
1. Unfasten straps and remove liner from boot. (Fig.1)
2. Place foot in liner with the heel fitting snugly into the back portion of the liner. Fasten and wrap
foot flaps then the leg portion of the liner. Liner should be snug from top to bottom but should not
constrict. (Fig.2)
3. With the colored "pull up" tabs intact, gently spread the side struts and place the foot onto the foot
plate heel first, then the forefoot. The ankle should be centered at the struts with the foot and ankle at
90°. (Fig.3)
4. Once in the correct alignment, remove the colored "pull up" tabs and gently push the struts towards
the liner to ensure the hook and loop on the walking brace is making contact with the liner. (Fig.4)
5. Fasten the hook and loop straps beginning at the toe then moving up the limb. Do not over tighten.
As swelling patterns change it may be necessary to adjust the straps. (Fig.5)
6. To inflate air liner, press and release center air bulb until liner provides a comfortable cushion and
support. Do NOT over inflate. To deflate or adjust the level of support, press and hold the deflate
button and deflate until pressure is comfortable. (Fig.6)
7. To remove, deflate air cells and unfasten all straps without removing them completely from the
assembled walker. Unfasten the soft good liner and gently bring the foot and ankle forward and out of

the walker. To reapply, place the foot and ankle into the liner, reattach the Velcro closures, and inflate
air liner for comfortable fit. (Fig.7)
• This device is to be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional. The determination of when
to apply the brace and the frequency and duration of use should be strictly at the discretion of the treating
physician. Always consult with your physician before making changes to the brace.
• Application of this device is recommended only when the fracture is demonstrably stable and there area
acceptable limits of angular and rotational deformity.
• Do not use over open wounds.
• Do not over tighten straps. This may result in reduction of blood flow or sensation.
NOTE: Contact manufacturer and competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due to usage
of this device.
NOTE: For added comfort, the extra rectangular shaped pads may be used for extra padding inside the liner,

under the straps, between the walking brace shell and the liner, etc.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: Hand wash liners using mild soap, rinse thoroughly. AIR DRY.
Note: If not rinsed thoroughly, residual soap may cause irritation and deteriorate material.
WARRANTY: DJO, LLC will repair or replace all or part of the unit and its accessories for
material or workmanship defects for a period of six months from the date of sale.

PERFIL DEL USUARIO PREVISTO: El usuario previsto debe ser un profesional médico autorizado, el
paciente o el cuidador del paciente. El usuario debe poder leer, comprender y ser físicamente capaz de
seguir todas las instrucciones, advertencias y precauciones proporcionadas en la información de uso.
INDICACIONES: El andador Procare Xceltrax Air está diseñado para brindar soporte e inmovilización
en la parte inferior de la pierna, tobillo y pie. Puede ser adecuado para el tratamiento de fracturas por
tensión de la parte inferior del miembro, fracturas estables de tobillo y/o del pie, reparación del tendón
de Aquiles y esguinces agudos laterales de tobillo. Proporciona inmovilización o movimiento controlado
a la extremidad o segmento corporal.
CONTRAINDICACIONES: No usar si es alérgico a alguno de los materiales que contiene este producto.
Este dispositivo está contraindicado para fracturas inestables de la parte inferior de la pierna, el tobillo y
el pie.
ADVERTENCIAS Y PRECAUCIONES: Si experimenta dolor, hinchazón, cambios de sensibilidad o
cualquier reacción poco habitual durante el uso de este producto, consulte a su médico inmediatamente.
No infle demasiado las celdillas neumáticas. Una inflación incorrecta de las celdillas neumáticas puede
provocar una irritación considerable en pacientes afectados de neuropatía diabética. Reduzca la presión
de las celdillas neumáticas si percibe cambios en la piel o si el paciente tiene molestias. No utilice este
dispositivo en pacientes incapaces de comunicar su malestar físico.
Al igual que sucede con las escayolas, las sujeciones y demás inmovilizadores de las extremidades
inferiores, los pacientes sin sensibilidad (es decir, anestesia posoperatoria, neuropatías, etc.) deben
supervisarse a menudo para detectar daños en la piel, irritación en la piel o heridas.
Tenga cuidado al caminar sobre superficies resbaladizas o húmedas para evitar lesiones.
A gran altitud, las celdillas neumáticas se expanden más allá de su nivel óptimo. Ajuste el soporte de las
celdillas neumáticas, apretando o aflojando las correas.
Inspeccione el producto antes de cada uso. Compruebe si existen roturas en los cosidos o piezas rotas,
material rasgado, cortado o desgastado; compruebe también si existen hebillas o cierres de gancho
y lazo que no queden bien fijados. No utilice el producto si está dañado. Interrumpa el uso si está
desgarrado, desgastado o deshilachado de forma alguna.
No modifique el dispositivo ni lo utilice de forma diferente a la prevista. Este producto no está diseñado
para su uso con ningún otro producto excepto los accesorios aprobados de DJO.
Utilice una zapatilla de deporte o una zapatilla urbana con un ShoeLiftT TM o un equivalente en el pie sin
lesiones mientras camina para compensar los cambios de longitud de la pierna mientras lleva puesto una
ortesis de fractura.
INSTRUCCIONES DE COLOCACIÓN:
Inmovilizador NEUMÁTICO para caminar
1. Abra las cintas y extraiga el forro de la bota. (Fig. 1)
2. Coloque el pie en el forro haciendo que el talón quede cómodamente ajustado en la parte posterior del forro.
Cierre las solapas de los pies y, después la parte de la pierna. El forro debe quedar ajustado de arriba a abajo,
pero no debe apretar. (Fig. 2)
3. Con las lengüetas para tirar coloreadas intactas, despliegue cuidadosamente los soportes laterales y coloque el
pie en la placa para el pie; el talón en primer lugar y, después, el resto del pie. El tobillo debe quedar centrado
entre los soportes con el pie y el tobillo formando un ángulo de 90º. (Fig. 3)
4. Una vez realizada correctamente la alineación, retire las lengüetas para tirar coloreadas y empuje suavemente
los soportes hacia el forro para asegurarse de que el sistema de enganche y lazo del inmovilizador para caminar
hace contacto con el forro. (Fig. 4)
5. Fije las cintas del sistema de enganche y lazo empezando por la punta del pie y siguiendo por la pierna. No la
apriete demasiado.
A medida que cambien los patrones de inflamación podría ser necesario volver a ajustar las cintas. (Fig. 5)
6. Para inflar el forro de aire, presione y suelte la perilla neumática central hasta que el forro sea un soporte
acolchado y cómodo. NO infle más de lo debido. Para desinflar o ajustar la compresión, mantenga pulsado el
botón para desinflar y desinfle hasta que la presión sea cómoda. (Fig. 6)
7. Para retirarlo, desinfle las cámaras de aire y desajuste las correas sin extraerlas totalmente del andador
ensamblado. Desabroche el forro acolchado y mueva lentamente el pie y el tobillo hacia adelante hasta que
estén fuera del andador. Para volver a aplicarlo, coloque el pie y el tobillo en el forro, vuelva a colocar los cierres
de Velcro e infle el forro de aire para un ajuste cómodo. (Fig. 7)
• Este dispositivo debe utilizarse bajo la supervisión de un profesional médico. La decisión de aplicar el dispositivo en
cada caso concreto, así como la frecuencia y la duración del uso, corresponde exclusivamente al médico tratante.
Consulte siempre a su médico antes de efectuar modificaciones al dispositivo.
• La aplicación de este dispositivo solo se recomienda cuando se pueda demostrar que la fractura es estable y existan
límites aceptables de deformidad angular y de rotación.
• No debe aplicarse sobre heridas abiertas.
• No apriete demasiado las correas. Esto puede reducir el flujo sanguíneo o la sensación.
NOTA: Comuníquese con el fabricante y la autoridad competente en caso de un incidente grave que surja debido al
uso de este dispositivo.
NOTA: Para obtener mayor comodidad, se pueden utilizar las almohadillas rectangulares adicionales para colocarlas
dentro del forro, bajo las cintas, entre la capa del inmovilizador para caminar y el forro, etc.
INSTRUCCIONES DE LIMPIEZA: Lave a mano los forros con jabón suave y enjuáguelos bien. SECADO
AL AIRE. Nota: Si no se enjuaga bien, los restos de jabón pueden provocar irritación y deteriorar el
material.
GARANTÍA: DJO, LLC reparará o sustituirá toda o parte de la unidad y sus accesorios por defectos de
material o mano de obra durante los seis meses siguientes a la fecha de venta.
