Work on the EIB bus must exclusively be performed by
trained electrical personnel.
Laying and connection of the bus line as well as
application devices must be in conformity with
applicable guidelines specified in the EIB Manual of the
European Installation Bus Association (EIBA).
This device is to be used only with an EIB line (ABB-
®
i-bus EIB)!
The interrogation extra low voltage is made available
via the EIB line. No external voltage source must have
been applied to the contacts of switches and
pushbuttons!
The device will be supplied with permanently wired
connecting lead and plug. Use the pertinent cable har-
ness and plug that provides the color coding applicable
to the binary inputs. Moreover, the line can be extended
up to a total length of 10 m.
The free ends of all unused connecting lines must by
all means be insulated or cut off!
The device is meant for flush installation in standard moun-
ting boxes. Note that soiling of the 10-pole socket (Item
3) or of the programming button (Item 1) due to paint-
ing or similar work may cause damage to the device!
