Care and Maintenance

WARNING!
Helmet absorbs the energy of a blow by partial destruction of, or damage to, the helmet. Replace the helmet
after it has withstood an impact, even if there is no visible damage.
Do not drop the helmet.
Avoid unnecessary impacts to the helmet which could damage the face shield and/or optional visor
(cracks/scratches).
Do not apply paint, adhesives or self-adhesives labels, cleaning products with a hydrocarbon base or
solvents to the helmet or visors to prevent damaging the materials of your helmet.
Failure to follow these warnings can result in serious personal injury or death.
The length of the useable life of this helmet will be affected by the type(s) of material used in its construction
and the environments in which the helmet is used and stored. Recommendations on this topic should be
sought from the manufacturer.
For cleaning, maintenance and disinfection, use only substances that have no adverse effect on the helmet
and are not known to be likely to have any adverse upon the wearer, when applied in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and information.
The parts in contact with skin have to be inspected regularly for cracks or wear that could cause discomfort.
Changing those parts regularly will maintain user comfort level.

Transportation and Storage

Do not carry the helmet by the chinstrap to avoid risks of premature wear.
Proper storage conditions can contribute to extend helmet service life.
Before first use, keep the helmet in its original packaging.
Clean the helmet (shell and internal components →
storing.
Store the helmet in the MSA protective bag (GA3708) and/or in a closed cabinet to avoid extended exposure
to cold, humidity, exhaust fumes, etc.
Keep the helmet in a dry, clean area with limited exposure to sun light.
NOTE: Helmet with ocular visor should be stored inside the helmet (out of use position). Ocular visors and
face shields bought separately from helmet should be kept in their original packaging until they are mounted
on the helmet.
6.2

Cleaning and Disinfection

Clean the helmet immediately after use and before storage to avoid migration of contamination (dirt, fumes,
etc.) inside the shell outer layer (painted shell models).
6.2.1
Routine Cleaning
Plastic Components, Goggles and Visors
Use soapy water and a soft cloth. (Do not use solvent based products or abrasive materials).
Textile Materials and Soft Goods (Padding, Chinstrap, Neck Protector)
These can be removed from the helmet and machine cleaned. Follow the cleaning instructions on the labels
