The functioning MAG welding torch comprises the following components:
• Torch neck with equipment parts and parts subject to wear, Handle tube,
Cable assembly including central connector
All elements together form an operating unit which provides an arc for welding
when supplied with the appropriate operating resources. The wire electrode is
a melting solid wire or filler wire. The wire electrode required for welding is fed
by the welding torch system all the way to the contact tip. The contact tip
transmits the welding current to the welding wire, producing an arc between
the welding wire and work-piece. The light arc and the molten pool are
protected by the active gas (MAG).
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up.
For the entire duration of maintenance, servicing, dismounting and repair
work, the following instructions must be adhered to:
• Switch off the power supply.
• Cut off the gas supply.
• Pull the mains plug.
