Installation
The SU5KRT3UTF and SU6KRT3UTF consist of the UPS and step-down transformer. The SU5KRT3UTFMB and SU6KRT3UTFMB
consist of the UPS Power module, a bypass PDU module, and an isolation step-down transformer. All 4-Post rack-mount
mounting hardware and rack-mount rail kits are included. If any of these parts are missing, or if you require further assistance,
please contact Tripp Lite Technical Support at tripplite.com/support.
Installation must be performed by qualified electrical service personnel only. The required electrical services for your
installations are as follows:
UPS Systems
SU5KRT3UTF
SU6KRT3UTF
The UPS system and the transformer are provided with the required hardware for a 4-post rack-mount configuration. If a
2-post configuration is required, the 2POSTRMKITHD or 2POSTRMKITMB (models with bypass PDU) must be purchased
separately. If an upright / tower configuration is required, the 2-9USTAND must be purchased separately.
Determine the amount of rack space required for your UPS setup. For SU5KRT3UTF, SU5KRT3UTFMB, SU6KRT3UTF or
SU6KRT3UTFMB setup, 5U of rack space must be available near the bottom of the rack enclosure. The step-down transformer
(SU5000XFMRT2U or SU6000XFMR2U) should be installed below the UPS system. If any external battery packs are to be
utilized in your setup, plan for additional rack space accordingly. The external battery packs should always be installed beneath
the transformer, in the lowest part of the rack.
Install the rack-mount rails and mounting ears in accordance with the owner's manual for your UPS and transformer. Allow 3U
of rack space above the transformer for the UPS/power module.
For SU6KRT3UTF and SU6KRT3UTFMB Models that Include the SU60000XFMR2U Transformer
Locate the square cover plate on the right side of the front bezel on the SU6000XFMR2U transformer. Using a flat-head
screwdriver, pry the cover plate from the bezel for access to the Input Voltage Selection Switch. The Input Voltage Selection
Switch must be set to 208VAC or 240VAC to match the output supplied by utility power to the UPS. The voltage provided
to the UPS MUST be either nominal 208VAC or 240VAC @ 60 Hz in order for the step-down transformer to operate
properly. The step-down transformer is factory set to 208VAC; additional details can be referenced on page 4 in the Owner's
Manual for the step-down transformer.
The UPS and step-down transformer should be mounted at or near the bottom 5U of your 4-Post Rack. Install the rack-mount
rails and mounting ears in accordance with UPS and transformer owner's manuals.
