 Use only original cables! Before each use, check the
power tool, cables and plugs for possible damage. Ca-
bles may not be repaired, but must be exchanged.
 Have maintenance and repair work performed only by
qualified specialists. This will ensure that the safety of
the tool is maintained.
Always connect the power tool to the PUC-EXACT power sup-
ply unit first, before connecting the power supply unit to the
power supply.
Insert tool cord 7 into connection socket 13 of the PUC-
EXACT power supply unit. Pay attention that the groove 15 in
the coupling of the tool cable fits onto the cog in the connec-
tion socket. Screw sleeve 11 clockwise onto the connection
socket.
For corded straight screwdrivers with lever start, pay at-
tention not to place the screwdriver down on the lever before
having connected the PUC-EXACT power supply unit to the
power supply. This prevents accidental starting of the screw-
driver.
For corded straight screwdrivers with push start, pay at-
tention not to apply axial pressure to the screwdriver when
connecting the PUC-EXACT power supply unit to the power
supply. This prevents accidental starting of the screwdriver.
Firstly, insert the connection plug 18 of the power cord 19 in-
to the connection socket 21 of the PUC-EXACT power supply
unit. The PUC-EXACT can now be connected to the power
supply by inserting the power plug 20 into a grounding-type
outlet.
Always connect the power cord with the PUC-EXACT power
supply unit first before inserting the power plug 20 into the
outlet, otherwise there is danger of an electric shock.
Operation
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye
protection. Safety equipment such as dusk
mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hear-
ing protection used for appropriate conditions
will reduce personal injuries.
Reversing the rotational direction
Right-hand rotation: Upon delivery the power tool is
set to drive in screws or bolts and nuts (right-hand ro-
tation). The rotational direction switch 5 is not
pressed.
Left-hand rotation: To loosen screws or bolts and
nuts, press the rotational direction switch 5. Turn the
rotational direction switch to lock it.
 Actuate the rotational direction switch 5 only when the
machine is at a standstill.
Switching the PUC-EXACT Power Supply Unit
On/Off (see figure A)
The PUC-EXACT power supply unit must be put into operation
first before you can switch on the C-EXACT power tool (see
"Connection to the Power Supply", page 17).
1 609 92A 136 | (17.5.17)
To switch on the power supply unit, press the On/Off switch
14 on the power supply unit to position 1.
The green lit LED indicator 16 indicates when the power sup-
ply unit is ready for operation.
PUC-EXACT-1: When LED indicator 17 lights up, a malfunc-
tion is given.
To switch off the power supply unit, press the On/Off
switch 14 on the power supply unit to position 0.
Switching the Power Tool On/Off
The screwdriver have a shut-off clutch that
depends on the torque and can be set in the
given range. It responds when the torque that
is set is reached.
Corded Straight Screwdrivers with Lever Start
To start the machine press the on/off switch 9 to the stop.
The machine switches off automatically as soon as the pre-
set torque is reached.
 When the on/off switch 9 is released prematurely, the
preset torque is not reached.
Corded Straight Screwdrivers with Push Start
To start the machine, position the tool bit onto the screw and
apply light axial pressure to the screwdriver.
The machine switches off automatically as soon as the pre-
set torque is reached.
 When the screwdriver is released too early, e.g., when
the machine's tool bit slips off of the screw, the preset
torque is not reached.
Switching the power tool on or briefly pressing the rotational
direction switch 5 activates an LED worklight. The LED goes
out approx. two minutes after the last screwdriving.
 Do not look directly into the work area illumination –
your sight can be temporarily degraded!
To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.
Working Advice
 Disconnect the power supply before making any ad-
justments, changing accessories, or placing the ma-
chine aside. This safety measure prevents accidental
starting of the power tool.
 Apply the power tool to the screw/nut only when it is
switched off. Rotating tool inserts can slip off.
Setting the Torque (see figures C–D)
The tightening torque is dependent on the spring pretension
of the shut-off clutch. The shut-off clutch responds in right as
well as left rotation when the torque setting is reached.
For setting the individual tightening torques, use only the ad-
justment tool 22 provided.
Push the torque selector switch 10 on the power tool com-
pletely back. Insert the adjustment tool 22 into the tool holder
2 and turn it slowly. When a small indentation (adjusting dial
23) is visible in the clutch, insert the adjustment tool 22 into
the indentation and turn it.
Turning in the clockwise direction results in a higher torque, in
the counterclockwise direction, a lower torque.
