▶ Keep the underside of the scanner and the wheels clean as these parts can have an influence on scanning
accuracy.
▶ While scanning is in progress, always keep all 4 wheels in contact with the surface being scanned. Do
not scan over steps or edges.
▶ Do not affix stickers or adhesive labels to the sensor area at the back of the scanning tool. Metal plates /
labels, in particular, will affect scanning results.
▶ Use only a clean, dry finger to operate the touchscreen. Wipe the touchscreen with a clean, non-abrasive
cloth so that it is shiny and responsive to the touch. Dry the scanning tool before stowing it in a transport
container.
▶ The specified operating and storage temperatures must be observed.
▶ Remove the battery prior to storage.
▶ Check the accuracy of the scanning tool if it has been dropped or subjected to other mechanical stresses.
If the device is damaged, have it repaired by a Hilti service center.
▶ The scanning tool is designed for the tough conditions of jobsite use, but as with other optical and
electronic instruments (e.g. binoculars, spectacles, cameras) it must be handled with care.
▶ Comply with the national accident prevention regulations.

Intended use
This scanning tool is designed for locating reinforcing bars in concrete and other non-ferritic construction
materials, and for measuring the cover and estimating the diameter of the topmost layer of the reinforcement.
▶ Use only Hilti Liion batteries of the B 12 series with this product.
▶ Use only Hilti battery chargers of the C4/12 series for charging these batteries.
